Madi held up a dark green, strapless cocktail dress.

     "No," I said coldly.

     "Why not? It's absolutely gorgeous."

"Because I do not want to look like a hooker with Miles."

"Fine," she replied, stubbornly putting the dress back and looking on a different rack.

An hour and six dresses later, I sat down in an armchair.

     "I think it's a lost cause," I said, defeated.

"I don't think so," Madi replied in awe.

I looked over to where she was holding a blue dress. It fell to right above the knee, and was beautiful. It had one shoulder and the entire dress just flowed.

"Try it on," said a voice behind me. I turned around to find Madi's sister standing at the doorway. "Come on. What are you waiting for? I'm about to close the shop."

I got up and walked over to where Madi was taking the dress off the hanger. I stood there awkwardly, waiting.

"Well come on now, strip. We're all girls here," Madi's sister stated.

I  took my clothes off, until all I had left was my un-matching pair of undergarments.

"We are gonna have to buy you a pair of sexy underwear before tonight, huh," Madi asked.

      I looked at her. "Why?"

Her sister laughed and replied, "Because that isn't gonna get you anywhere, honey. Now put on the dress."

Madi handed me the dress and I slipped into it, and Madi zipped up the back for me. I turned around and approached the mirror. Damn, this dress really was beautiful. I looked amazing. I turned back around to face my company.

"Wow. Miles is one lucky bastard," Madi said, looking me up and down.

"Jeez, stop checking me out. I thought you were straight."

"Well, you never know," she replied, winking. We all laughed.

I picked up my phone from my jeans that were on the floor and called Miles.

     "Hello," he said, confused.

     "Hey, are you busy tonight?"

     "Yes."

     "Doing what," I asked, disappointed.

     "Taking you out somewhere."

"Good, pick me up at seven," and I hung up on him.

I texted him my address and turned back to Madi.

"We should go get ready," I told her, smiling.

She laughed. "Yes, because I wouldn't miss tonight for all the money in the world."

     "I wouldn't let you."

We both laughed and went outside and waited for her sister to lock up so we could ride home with her.
