; kim jieun's pov
i hanged up the beautiful dress siwon willingly bought for me in front of my closet. a smile creeps on my face as i scan through the dress. such detailed designs and the fabric used was really smooth.
the wedding was just a few weeks away. i feel really scared. of when i have to bid hyukjae and my feelings goodbye as he says his vows.
"that is beautiful," i flinched and turned behind. it was my mother, crossing her arms and leaning at the doorframe. i gave her a warm smile.
"maybe you can braid my hair for the wedding." i suggested. it would be just like before when i went to school with two french braids left and right. i sat on my bed and my mother joined.
she ran her fingers through my hair, "certainly sweetie." and left a peck on my cheek.
"i know you're someone not open so i do not know whats happening between you and hyukjae. but i do know you really love him and can't let him go." she carressed my face and stared into my eyes fondly.
"i know it is bad to love him." i answered gloomy.
"why feel bad when you can fight him back? or, decide to wish each other luck in different paths you both will embark on."
she got up, "think about it sweetie. do something or you're gonna regret it for the rest of your life."
i laid down on my bed, in confusion. i really wanted to get hyukjae back, but i also feel tired of waiting and waiting for miracles that may never happen. i stuff my head onto my pillow and scream as loud as i can. muffled screams with swearing in between was probably what my mother heard for at least three minutes.
i finally face back up onto the ceiling, face feeling warm from the heat.
i glance upon the dress hanged, then upon the many photo frames on my dressing table that had me and hyukjae. i held my sight on the nearest one. a photo of where the three of us posed together.
a spark of inspiration got to my head. i knew what i had to do. i stood up, looked at the mirror and slightly smirked. i was gonna get my man back.
i slipped on a hoodie to cover the food stains found on the white tshirt i was currently wearing and put on some jeans, and wore some sandals. i ran to the living room and was ready to run out once i open the door with my mom giving me words of encouragement.
till, "oh shit!" a familiar voice was heard as i abruptly open the door. i look up, "lee hyukjae?" my eyes frowned as i could not believe the person i wanted to see was just outside my house.
"haha, um" he scratched his neck and his cheeks heated up. "i-i, wanted to talk to you and i've been standing here for the past 12 minutes and hesitating to knock. but you came instead." he smiled cheekily.
i closed the door, "lets take a walk?" he nodded and we began walking.
we ended up walking towards the park, as we walked and walked, i could not take it anymore as none of us were actually starting the conversation.
i sped up so i could get in front of him and blocked him. as he was looking down, he did not realise and bumped onto my head. "ouch. oh sorry!"
i gestured him towards a shelter that seemed pretty secluded and he followed.
"why did u come to my house hyukjae?"
"you tell me why first."
i sighed, "i want you so badly. i wanted to somehow persuade you to back out of the wedding. but i know, that you can't. your father is a pretty scary person. and if you had disagreed with me, i would have just wished you luck on your new marriage and somehow get over you. but i can't do that." i paused before continuing.
i grabbed hold of his hands, "i love you."
"i'm sorry jieun. to have caused you this much pain, i knew i should not have told you to wait."
he held my delicate hands and kissed it, "i love you too."
"what now?"
"i kinda have a plan.." he trailed off which made me look at him. "not that!"
"but that is the only way i can think off." he shrugs. "i'm gonna run away."
"what about me? siwon?"
he stopped. "you guys can come with me?" i crossed my arms, "you know that is not possible, we can't leave our families behind."
he huffed, "then what can we do?" we seemed out of options. i approached him and wrapped my arms around his shoulders, leaning on him. "we really need more choices."
"i can give you some."
we turned abruptly, "another suprise?" i mumbled under my breath.
it was mina, she was wearing sunglasses and sprayed too many layers of perfume that the scent rushed through my nose and made ne a little dizzy.
hyukjae grew protective, he held my hand tightly, ordered me to stand behind him. "what do you want?" he spoke sternly.
"calm down, like i said. i want to help you. i want to call this wedding off as well."
our mouth gapes open. none of us could believe what she said.
