The snow fell down at a quick rate, coating the frosted grass and piling up for hours. It was now three in the afternoon, and the snow had started in the early morning which meant that there was a fair amount of snow on the ground. My small house that I shared with my roommates was empty, other than my boyfriend and i. Julie and Cara had already gone home for the holidays while Daniel came to see me. We'd made the decision to spend the holidays together, and since my parents lived just south of my college, Danny was staying with me for christmas and then we'd drive down an hour or two to see my parents on christmas day.

It's currently december 18 and danny came yesterday, thankfully. the cold front came in and brought snow easily this morning. The two of us had been lying in bed all morning, gathering our sleep after I finished classes yesterday and Daniel had an extensive five hour flight from Portland after visiting his family before the holidays. I couldn't help but giggle as Daniel stayed huddled in the sheets, his shirtless body freezing in the New York weather.

"you have to get up eventually or you'll starve" i giggle, perfectly cozy in my sweatpants and long sleeve shirt.

"it's really cold here" danny told me as i climbed into bed and kissed his soft lips and pulling away in attempt to come out.

"let's go play in the snow!" i told him as the idea came to mind.

A dead stare was on his face, "as much fun as that sounds, it's really cold out there"

"so we dress warm, come on silly" i passed him one of his shirts and he threw it on, finally climbing out of bed. he came up behind me and hugged me, kissing my cheek and looking in the mirror that sat above my dresser.

I giggled as Daniel waddled through the snow, trying to come towards me. The snow in my front yard was deep and my feet stuck in tightly as i attempted to get out of it. Daniel started to run and as he got closer, I 'ran' away, gathering snow and molding it as i ran.

Daniel had a look of fear on his face when i stopped in place, turning my torso around with a thick ball of snow wrapped between my fingers. He threw his arms in front of his body to protect himself as i released my grip on the ice ball that flung towards his body. It shattered against his stomach and fell to the ground as a loud giggle escaped my mouth.

My feet ran and ran further and further into the snow until i was buried up to my knees and i tripped, falling backwards into the large mount of snow. My ears were blocked by the cold snow filling them, but i could hear the faint laughter of Danny as he peered over me.

He leaned down and as he did so, I pulled his arms so that he too was lying in the snow, only he was lying on top of me. i giggled as my nose froze, crinkling whilst he placed a tiny kiss on it. danny stood up as i sneezed, letting out a congested cough.

"i think that's all for our snow day"

i curled up on the couch, my nose bright red and my body still shivering from the freezing cold air i'd been in several hours ago. My heating pad was on me and yet i still felt as if i'd gotten into an ice bath. my nose was stuffy and my throat sore as danny frowned at me upon entering the room with a cup of tea.

"do you want a snack?" daniel asked, "or more tissues?"

i sniffed, "i'm fine" Daniel sat down next to me on the couch, curling my body into his, "a little cold"

"baby, this is why we shouldn't have gone out in the snow" he told me with a little look of sympathy. i shook my head at his little comments about the cold weather, sniffling a little bit more, "do you want hot chocolate?"

my eyebrows rose at the mention of the utterly craved drink and a chuckle left his lips.

"i'll be back in two minutes" he tells me, "anything you want to watch?"

i smiled playfully with a sick daze, "i have a cold, i'm not dying. i can control the remote"

daniel agreed with slight hesitation and headed towards my kitchen to prepare a chocolatey drink for the two of us. he's the perfect boyfriend, honestly. there was just this way that he would get whenever i was in a vulnerable position. he'd do everything in his capability to not only make me happy, but return me back to my healthy self. It was just this beautiful person that he'd shown me over the time that i've known him.

a few minutes later, and a couple cute grey's moments later, danny walked in with two mugs in his hand. he had paper towels under his arms, a big role of them, and set his mug down on a coaster and then handing mine to me. my mug had a napkin under it and he was careful to make sure i didn't spill the boiling drink on myself.

i watched his as he stood, waiting for more directions, "daniel, sit your ass down and watch with me"

he laughed a little bit, sitting down beside me and picking up his drink, "is it too hot? do you want an ice cube?"

"baby, it's fine" i giggled, "but you probably don't want to sit so close to me. i wouldn't want to get you sick"

"why is that your concern?" my boyfriend shook his head, "you're not going to get me sick, and if you do, then we can be sick together"

i nodded my head quietly and went back to watching meredith perform surgery on a middle aged lady while danny sat beside me. carefully and quietly, a few moments later i turned to look at him, "i'm sorry that i got sick and ruined your trip"

daniel looked sadly at me, "why would you even think that, (y/n)? firstly, it's day one of vacation and we've got three weeks to go. secondly, anytime i spend with you is never a waste. if i spend three weeks with you puking every hour, it'd still be great because i'd be with you. it'd hurt because i hate to see you in pain, but i'd be grateful to spend time with my beautiful girlfriend"

i gave him a small smile, "thanks for taking care of me, danny"

he blushed at the little nickname, "of course, (y/n). anything and everything for you, love"
