a/n: SUPER sorry for the long wait, I had a lot of homework and stress lately...enjoy!

*Future Sophie's POV

"Really?" Sophie's heart fluttered as she sighed of relief. "How could we do that? Is it dangerous? What would the symptoms be--"

"Sophie! Slow down. This isn't going to work if I have to explain it ten times," Dex grumbled.

Sophie forced herself to calm down. "Okay, continue."

"Anyways, while Biana and I were scouring Everglen's library, we found this," Dex said, pulling out an old and dusty book from his satchel. The title was labeled, "The Secret to Time." Sophie frowned. "What's this got to do with anything?"

"Well," Biana interrupted, "the only thing that can erase your memory from existence would be to time travel. It's the only logical way. And this book is our key to getting you back in time, Sophie."

Dex added on," Remember, Sophie. This is solely your choice. If you don't want to do this we can just--"

"It's fine, Dex. I'm all in," Sophie whispered, struggling to find her voice. "So...how do we do this time-traveling thing?"

"Well--"

Biana and Dex laughed. Biana yelled, "Jinx!"

Tam smirked, "Awww, you guys are saying the same words now. So cute!"

Dex's face turned a bright red as he continued, "Well, time is essentially created by a balance of elements and energy. So technically, if we could have all the elements of the world in the same place at the same time and a massive energy boost, we could create a wormhole to the past or future."

Linh smiled. "Hey genius, can you tell us this in a way we will understand?"

Biana jumped up. "I can! What Dex means, is that if we have all the elements, fire, water, electricity, ice, shadows, light, and wind, and a ton of energy, which could be caused by your teleportation, we could create a path to the past or future!"

Sophie tore out an eyelash as she said, "Okay guys, are we going to do this?"

She glanced at every member of the group, waiting for a nod of consolidation. When everyone had nodded to her, she transmitted a message into everyone's minds:

Let's do this.

 .  .  .

Sophie tore out another eyelash, she was actually going to do this. She walked down Havnefield's earthy paths. She glanced at Calla's tree and the beautiful Panankes blossoms spiraling around the branches. Sophie sniffed the beautiful scent as it overwhelmed her with an eternal bliss. She then exhaled, leaving all of her worries with the air.

She turned away from the tree, towards the nightmare of a place, the cave where she was kidnapped. The air grew sourer as she walked down to the beach. She would never forget the sweet and salty smell of the sedatives, the ropes burning into her skin, and the sinister voices of her kidnappers. But if this worked, she would never have to endure those past memories.

Sophie entered the cave, sitting down on the sand. She had devised a plan to draw the kidnappers away, but nothing would be for sure until she got there. "Sophie? Oh, hey. I thought you'd be here."

Keefe wrapped his arms around her. "I love you, baby. But I came to tell you that its time."

"I love you too Keefe. Please, always remember that, okay? If I don't get back--"

Keefe frowned, "No Sophie, don't think like that. You're going to be just fine."

Keefe pulled her up to her feet, wiping away a tear that slid its way down her cheek. He pressed his lips against her, relieving her. Sophie breathed deeply. "It's time," Sophie said confidently, and left the cave, knowing she would see it again soon.

 . . .

The wind whipped at Sophie's cloak as she held Keefe's hand. Almost the whole population had gathered at Havenfield to witness this crazy occurence. A circle of Sophie's most trusted friends were below her, ready to blast Sophie back in time. Marella, Juline, Linh, Tam, Wylie, and a few elves that Sophie didn't know we're ready to unleash their powers. And Elwin was on standby.

Grady and Edaline were also up on the cliff with her, very anxious for her. The Councilors, of course--were there to observe. Bronte stepped forward, making her heart race. Bronte yelled above the gusts of wind, "Sophie, you are about to perform what some think may be impossible. We wish you the best of luck. We only hope that you can drive the kidnappers away from you. But remember," Bronte said seriously, "do not try to mess with time too much. It could cause a whole-world-phenomenon."

Sophie's knees buckled, but Keefe caught her. "I understand Bronte," Sophie said.

Bronte smiled. "Okay, Sophie. You go on three. Alright, let the elements commence!"

Marella unleashed her fire on the circle, as did Linh, Juline, Tam, Wylie, and the other elves with their abilities. Blasts of light and force began, growing stronger and stronger. In only a few seconds, they had created a ferocious tornado of power. Sophie turned to face her family and boyfriend. "I love you guys so much."

They all responded, teary-eyed, "I love you too Sophie."

"1," Bronte yelled.

"2!"

"3!"

Sophie jumped from the cliff, flinging herself at the blasts of force from the elements. She gritted her teeth as she plummeted into the circle, energy building around her. Seconds before she would have smacked against the ground, her body boomed with energy. "AAHHH!" A wormhole ripped open and Sophie plummeted inside.
