a/n: It actually feels good writing this again, as I haven't for a multitude of months now. :D

*Alvar's POV

Alvar brushed his hands against his cloak, hoping it would brush away any of his worries. Would he really be able to kidnap his brother's friend? He flexed each of his fingers individually. Fidgeting seemed to help him cope with anxiety.

"Alvar!" Lady Gisela's high pitched voice bounced off of the facility walls. "It's time to go!"

Alvar sighed. He rose from his seated position. "I'm coming," he mumbled. "Well, you can move a bit quicker," Lady Gisela snapped. Alvar followed her into the room where the whole Neverseen was. "Ah," Gethen mocked, "he finally gets here. Alright now, let's go." The group began to move out, their dark cloaks swished against the floor very creepily.

He followed the dark figures through a series of hallways and rooms outside into a medium-sized courtyard. There was a small garden filled with a variety of colored flowers. He could hear yet a few birds chirping in the afternoon light. But his nose wrinkled as he inhaled. They must have set off another fire around here. He shook his head, clearing the nasty effect. He focused again on the group.

"Let's go get that moonlark," Fintan snarled as he lifted his pathfinder and stepped into the light. Lady Gisela, Ruy, and a few other members that he didn't recognize did the same. And as quickly as everyone entered the courtyard, the group was gone. Alvar was alone.

He raised the pathfinder to reflect off of the light, creating a blanket of light in front of him. He took one look back at the industrial looking building. He would do this, if not for him, but for his world. He stepped into the light and let it whisk him away. There was no turning back.

*Sophie's POV

"Um. Like, hello?" Stina's high-pitched, whiny voice cut through Sophie's thoughts. Stina was standing in front of the table Sophie and Biana were sitting at in study hall. Did she really have to come over here? "Biana," Stina said again, louder this time. "I really didn't think you were this good of an actress, but I must say, I'm impressed!"

Biana's face drained of color, leaving only a pale tone. "W-what do you mean?" Biana stammered, obviously trying to cover. Sophie tugged out an eyelash, glancing out at the sea of people in the room. "What are you talking about Stina, leave us alone." Sophie took Biana's hand and dragged her away from the table.

But she could hear Stina's boots clicking after them. "You know," Stina mocked, grabbing Biana from Sophie, forcing the two to turn around. Stina continued on, "I heard the most interesting story today! I have started to become close with Maruca, and she told me quite a few tales concerning your friendship with Sophie, Biana."

Biana looked like she had just seen a ghost. She tried to push Sophie away, but she held her ground. "What is it, Stina?" Sophie demanded. Stina smiled. "It's actually quite funny, you know. She was forced to be friends with you.  Her dad actually wanted you around more because you're like the super freak that almost killed his son in a splotching match. He wanted to keep an eye on you, you know."

Sophie's knees buckled. "Is-is that true?" Sophie asked, looking Biana in the eyes. Biana looked away. "Of course it's true," Stina laughed, "why would she all of a sudden be friends with you after she hated you! It's all quite a huge laugh. You're even dumber than I thought!" Biana gasped and grabbed Sophie's arm. "Don't," Sophie ordered, pulling away.

Biana sank to the ground, looking as if she was about to cry. But Sophie didn't care. She raced from the room, rage moving her across the bright halls. She didn't even see when Fitz came walking out of a classroom. "Owwww, watch where you're going," Sophie said as the two collided. Fitz studied her in her raging state and held her hands. "Sophie are you okay? What happened?"

Sophie stepped back. "Did your dad put you up to this as well? You know what? I don't want to hear it." She raced to the Leapmaster as Fitz just stared, shocked. She leaped back to Havenfield in a rush of light.

Havenfield seemed to have a gray and dark aura among the place. And all of a sudden, a fiery red inferno would blow this place off the map. Not that they were on the map anyway. She threw her bag on the ground and raced for the caves, needing a bit of darkness to swallow her anger and sadness. She raced across the field, her legs numb after running for so long. She ran, and ran, and ran. Sophie let her rage take over her.

She was about 50 yards away from the mouth of the cave when a bright white light flashed across the sky. A bright and glowing figure stopped her movement. As the light faded, Sophie saw who it was and gasped. It was her reflection, it was her! She looked like an angel floating across the mountain valley. Her blonde hair whipped in the wind, her dress, a blinding white beacon across the cloudy and dark day. She was beautiful. The girl walked over to her and touched her hand to Sophie's forehead. A calm a cool rush of energy flowed into Sophie's head, erasing any pain or anger.

The woman spoke, her words echoing off Sophie's mind. "Sophie, there is no time. I am from the future, and it's bright. Don't let what you just witnessed cloud your judgment forever."

Sophie nodded. "Why have you come here?"

Future Sophie shook her head. "I have come to warn you. Come here," she waved Sophie over, wrapping her in a hug. "Follow my hand."

Sophie's future self pointed towards the cave. Then she squeezed her eyes shut, letting a blast of light follow the path of her hand. The darkness in the cave illuminated, revealing figures in dark costumes idling in the cave. Sophie wobbled with fear. Future Sophie turned Sophie's face towards her. "These men, they kidnapped me. But I plan to change that."

Sophie shuddered. Then she pushed Sophie away. She could see the men climbing up the hill, towards her. A cold hand gripped her heart. "Run, Sophie. Run like your life depends on it!" Sophie stumbled, but caught her footing and turned away towards the house. "Remember," Sophie's future self said, "don't let sadness or fear push you away from the ones you love most."

Sophie nodded. And then ran like her life depended on it. When she turned back to get one more glance at the stunning girl in the beautiful white dress, she was gone.
