I wasn't allowed to leave her side after speaking with Vanessa. The o mighty queen herself demanded in front of everyone that I was not to be touched. Apparently anyone who threatened me was dead. Like geez, thanks Braelynn. I'm not sure whether to take her protection or yell at her to not baby me. I'm a grown women who has been working vampires since I was sixteen. Then again, I'm literally standing in a palace full of vamps.

Sighing I take a sip of the water I was handed and watched as Braelynn mingled with the guests at the dining table. Braelynn sat at the very end of the table as I sat on the floor beside her. I know right, the filthy floor. I hadn't been given food so I sat here with a growling stomach. Braelynn didn't care to help my hungry stomach.

"Kaia." She spoke, laying her hand on my shoulder. I tensed under her touch and looked at her. Had she decided to drink from me? She didn't have a problem with taking my blood this morning.

"Y-Yes?" Braelynn grinned.

"Come here." She pat her lap and silence overlapped  the room. She expects me to sit in her lap? Yeah no... "Kaia, sit in my lap or I'll kill your precious sister." My eyes widened. Not my sister! Not Tamara. Biting back the tears I stood and sat on her lap, looking down at my own. As if she was enjoying herself, Braelynn chuckled lowly and wrapped her arms around my waist and leaned down to my neck, her hot breath leaving a cold trail of goosebumps down my back. "Just give in Kaia. You know you have no way to overpower me. Your mine."

"I'm not yours." I mumbled, almost regretting it because I hissed in pain as she gripped my sides, her teeth in my neck. Tears spilled down my cheeks as the pain in my neck increased. Why was this happening to me? I thought I could escape the vampires and protect my sister. That was my mothers dying wish! She wanted us happy! A small sob escaped my lips as I lay against Braelynn, her fangs still embedded in my flesh. My eye lids were heavy and just as I was to close them fully she pulled away.

"You. Are. Mine. No matter how many times you push me away, I will show everyone you are mine. This bite," her tongue licks off the remaining blood that was dripping. "is an example. I have finally found you." What is she talking about! I've never met her before!

"W-What are you talking about?" I whispered, sniffling. Braelynn looked up at the people at the dining table.

"Leave." She hissed. Without a second glance they were gone. Just leaving us alone. "Now where were we? Right." I gasp as she sat me on the table, facing her. She smirked and caressed my bottom lip. "You look just like your mother."

My eyes widened. "You knew my mother?!" I yelled.

"I knew your mother? Your mistaken little Pet, your mother was my pet before she got pregnant by that house slave of a father of yours and ran away from me. If any of my pets become pregnant, their babes will become mine. They become my future pets." I was frozen to my very core. My mother was the vampire queens pet, and I was to become one but she ran away...

"You killed her..." I whispered, staring at the queen in horror. Braelynn grinned.

"She took you away from me. She deserved her punishment." All I saw was red.
