The downtown streets were pretty dangerous at night, and it wasn't because it was a bad part of town. The streets stayed clean, the clubs stayed fight free, and the alleys weren't lurking with mobsters and muggers. The reason downtown was dangerous...was because of street racing. Every night street racers would meet up at a tunnel, their cars were given GPS routes or routes for that nights track. And when they made sure the coast was clear, they went off.
A red Dodge Challenger with two black stripes slid around the corner, it's supercharged V8 screaming as the man driving shifted down into 3rd and punched it. Smoke flew from the tires and the car evened out as the driver counter steered, he got in a straight line and the engine rev matched and sped forwards.
Multiple street cars followed closely behind, there was a BMW, imports, and even some low cost supercars speeding the streets that night.
The red Dodge shifted into 4th and the engine rewarded the driver with a loud crackle and pop before purring as it sped up. The driver looked around the black leather interior before landing on his 8-inch display in the center console, he saw the race map and let off the gas getting ready to make a sharp right.
As he slowed down a Mazda sped past him to the right, engine screaming and tires screeching, before ramming into the road barrier poles. The Dodge driver popped the clutch and held it as he spun the wheel to the right and shifted into 2nd, he then let go of the clutch and slammed his foot into the gas and sped around the corner flawlessly.
He heard a loud engine screeching a high pitched scream coming up behind him, he looked in his rearview mirror. He looked at his own face, short cut dark brown hair, black skin, and brown eyes framed by glasses and saw a Lamborghini speeding up close to him. It looked like a convertible orange Murcielago, he clicked his teeth before shifting into 3rd.
The Lambo kept up with him and threw the missing top he could see the smug driver perfectly, he had a shit eating grin and dark rimmed glasses. He had a golden Rolex on his left wrist, an expensive SUPREME shirt and gold chain around his neck.
The driver, one David Bales, rolled his eyes at the "Hype lord".
The car sped in front of the red Challenger before hitting the brakes, David slammed on the brakes and the V12's acceleration sped ahead of him. David slammed his hand on the wheel before shifting into 2nd and speeding towards the cocky driver.
David managed to catch up after making a sharp left turn in the makeshift circuit, he pulled up even to the Lamborghini driver and lowered the window. He now had a clear view of the man, it was a teen, probably 16 or so, with brownish blonde hair listening to loud mumble rap. The boy turned and looked at David while pumping his arm and bobbing his head doing the famous "Fortnite" dance.
"What's in the hood of that thing?" The kid yelled over the wind and loud engines.
"A supercharged V8."
"Oh, yeah I've heard of those. See ya at the finish line!" He yelled before flooring it, David smirked and hit the gas. Hard.
The front end of the Dodge lifted off of the street for a second as the wheels spun, as the front of the car hit the ground he sped past the bewildered teen. David laughed as he sped past the finish line, he slowed down and his engine purred as the exhaust popped over and over again. He slowed down to around 40 and spun the wheel to the right, he drove with the other racers following close behind him.
After around half an hour of taking the backstreets they made it to the meetup point, it was near the docks of the city under a bridge outside an old auto body shop. David pulled up next to the building and pulled to a stop, he sighed as his heart rate began to slow down, he turned the car off and took the key fob in his hands and dropped it in his jacket pocket. He wore black basketball shorts with a white tank top covered by a red jacket with purple drawstrings and a black stripe going down the left side.
