—We Reign To Oblivion—
All of us are still traumatized with what we saw two days ago. The news had spread like a forest fire.
I was at home watching the news. The police came to the house a day after we looked. We forgot to salvage some seemingly important documents due to terror, we had the opportunity to go back a day after but Liz told us not to anymore and called the Police instead.
"Isang bangkay ang natagpuan sa isang bahay sa Imus, Cavite. Maraming mga kakaibang dokumento ang natagpuan sa loob ng bahay, at maaring konektado sa isang bagong uri ng droga na hindi pa alam kung anong ginagawa at saan nanggaling sa ngayon."
"Kawawa naman ang nangyari sa babaeng iyan." Ani Tita Sandra.
Should I tell?
"Tita Sandra, I'm friends with that girl. Her name is Pam."
"Really?", Tita said with a shocked look. "Well she must've been a really good friend."
"We still have no idea why that happened to her. Meron kaming kutob pero parang ayaw namin paniwalaan."
"Nate, Justice will be served for her. Kapag mabuti siyang tao, mabuti siya. Makukuha rin niya ang kanyang kapayapaang inaasam. That is if she deserves it.", said Tita with a smile, which comforted me a little bit.
She does deserve justice. We want her alive. However, what happened has already happened. We must move on.
"Sabagay.", I told Tita in a depressing tone. "I mean, there were things we could've done to prevent this."
"Like what?"
"I really haven't thought about it, Tita."
"Whatever it is you found out, make sure to do it again in the future."
"Yes po, Tita."
What am I talking about? Well obviously I could've asked if I could come with her to Woodlane. That would've been quite helpful, but then again It's most likely another secret mission so she would most likely reject my offer. Maybe I could've persisted for her safety. Oh, what am I thinking about? Patay na ang tao.
"Iho nga pala, kanina pa tumutunog cellphone mo, di mo napapansin?"
Wait, who'd want to text or call me at this moment?
Maaring si Liz pero nawala sim card niya lately. Di rin naman pwedeng si Evan sapagkat may pinuntahan siyang reunion at hindi siya maaabala. Lalo na si Manolo na wala namang cellphone. I don't have Miina's number. So I'm intrigued who it's gonna be.
"Sino po iyan, Tita?"
"Isang number, walang pangalan. Ngayon lang nakatawag sayo."
"Huh?", I paused for a moment I have a gut feeling that it's Miina but you never know.
I get my phone and look at the number. I don't recognize this number at all.
It rings again. Ang kulit naman nito. I begin to answer whoever the hell this person is.
"Hello?"
"Nate? Ikaw ba ito? Tama ba yung numero na nakuha ko? Hello? Nate? Sumagot ka naman!"
Holy shit.
