—––The Hornets––—
I look at the time, It's 12:11 am. It's a little bit odd since Tita hasn't been bombarding me with texts and calls. I have enough signal, I'm actually getting a little worried.
The door creaks open and I see someone come through whom I don't know of. He obviously looks Filipino.
"Pasensya na kanina. Ayaw naming may makalaman kung paano pumunta sa lugar na ito.", he told me.
"Nasan ba ako?", I asked.
"Batangas. Iyon lang ang mababangit ko sa iyo."
I see.
"Bakit ako kailangan ni Dianne dito?"
Tumingin siya sa akin na para bang alam niya ang lahat ng aking mga kasalanan.
"Kasi kaibigan ka ni Pam."
Halata rin namang tungkol ito kay Pam. Bakit pa ba ako nagtanong?
"Oo nga pala. Anong mangyayari ngayong gabi?"
"Makikita mo na lang."
"Sige, ganon na lang kung ganon.", I pleaded.
We went out of the room and what greeted me is what is seemingly a lobby, a door at my left and my right. There are also doors adjacent to the one I just came out from. It's quite dim. Seemingly a series of rooms really resembling a hospital of some sort.
"Doon ka sa pintuang iyon.", He told me while pointing at the door on the left. "Makikipag-kita diyan sayo si Dianne."
"Sige", then I walked towards the door.
Just as I was about to hold the doorknob, he told me, "Ako nga pala si River. Kausapin mo ako kung may gusto ka pang malaman tungkol kay Pam."
That's obviously not his real name.
"Siya nga pala, hindi iyon yung totoong pangalan ko."
Knew it.
"Sige. Kausapin nalang kita maya-maya.", I told him. After that, he closed the front door on me.
Strange.
I come into the door with Dianne staring blankly at what seems to be her very own desk. It seems like she's more of a higher authority than what I thought she is. Her desk is full of folders with a bunch of important papers. Marami talaga akong di alam sa iyo, Dianne. I thought. It just makes her that interesting.
"Sit down.", Dianne told me as she is still staring at her desk.
"Alright, uupo na ako."
I have this puzzled face that I just can't get off of me like a facehugger.
"Dianne, anong mang-"
"Shh.", Dianne cuts me off, "Nandito tayo sa lugar na ito. Better to call me by my codename."
Codenames? This is a little chessy but they're doing it for a reason.
"Instead of calling me Dianne, call me Stinger."
