----The Dawn----
Featured Song: Hellberg - The Girl (feat. Cozi Zuehlsdorff)
I asked Tita Sandra if I could go to Dawn of Talent tonight, not to perform, but to just watch and have fun. Miina, Liz, Manolo, and obviously, Pam are going to the event too. I have no idea why Alex, Zim, and Evan aren't going. They would probably have some 'important errands', which I would highly doubt.
"Tita, It's the most anticipated event in Dasmariñas. I would love to go there.", I told my aunt.
"Sige na nga. In one condition, and you must promise me this. Tututukan mo ang iyong pag-aaral at hindi ka lilingon sa ibang bagay na hindi naman makakatulong doon.", she implied.
"Opo, Tita.", I told her.
"The deal is settled then, I know your friends are nice people, especially Miina. So I trust all of you.", she told me, while I can sense doubts.
"Opo, Tita. I promise!"
"Mark your words?", she told me, while looking me dead in the eyes.
"Yes po, Tita.", I told her.
"Itaga mo sa bato?", she said with a smile.
"Opo, Tita!", I chuckled.
"Oh sige na.", Tita told me.
I kissed her goodbye and I went off towards the place Manolo and I were supposed to meet. As usual, we meet at Starbucks, by the Congressional Avenue. It's somehow our go-to meetup place, all the time. It was near the school, at least.
It was always hard to distinguish my friend's voices. Liz and Pam sound similar except Liz is at a higher tone. Miina is as bubbly as the two, but she's in the middle of Pam and Liz's tone of voice. Manolo and Alex sound similar, with a raspy voice, except Manolo's voice is raspier. Zim and Evan both have a thin voice, but Evan's voice cracks more often. So when expecting someone, I might hear someone else. I'm observant, which is a trait I develop along the decades.
I spent a couple more minutes waiting for Manolo, I almost finished my Flat White. I prefer creamy coffee. One time, Manolo told me about the one time he tried out coffee with chili. I know i'm adventurous when it comes to flavors, but not that kind.
Just as I finished my delicious Flat White, which reminds me of Kate because, you know. Manolo came through the door.
"Pare, sorry. Late na naman ako.", he told me.
"Okay lang yan, hindi naman ako nagtagal dito masyado.", I told him, chuckling.
"Hindi nagtagal pero naka-ubos ka ng Flat White?", he looked intrigued.
"Isa lang naman! Grabe ka.", I said. Still chuckling.
"Kilala kita Nate, hanggang bukas ka pa makakatapos ng isang Flat White."
Sabay kaming tumawa.
Dumiretso na kami sa venue kung saan magaganap ang Dawn Of Talent 2019. Which was at The Orchard Dasmariñas, in one of the Function Rooms, as written in the poster. I couldn't really know because it was Miina who knew where it was and none of us.
