I had just rung the doorbell to Kelli's house. I was hoping she wasn't too upset about the rumors. I didn't start them. It didn't happen. Why does it matter?
She was taking a long time. Did she forget? I rung the doorbell again and waited. Still no response. I sighed. Maybe she forgot?
She finally came down...but she wasn't dressed. "You're not ready?" I asked.
"Jonathan, I'm so sorry. I've been so upset about the rumors and Rodney and I were supposed to hang out and watch movies and its such a mess and I'm so sorry-"
I kissed her. "It's okay baby girl. I'll wait for you so you can get dressed. You said you were supposed to hang out with Rodney?" She nodded. "Text her," I said. "Tell her something came up. Tonight should be for us. No crazy exes or best friends or drama should get in the way. Just you and me. No one else. Okay?" She nodded and hugged me.
"I love you. I'll be down in a bit." I kissed her.
"Take your time, my love." She kissed me.
"I love you, Jonathan Smith."
"I love you too, Kelli Johnson."
