~Kelli's P.O.V~

I woke up to a text on my phone. I groggily sat up and turned on my phone. It was a text from Rodney.

(R is Rodney, K is Kelli)

R: Jonathan is trying to get your phone #

K: Ugh. When is he ever gonna stop

R: I think he likes u

K: No. Rlly?! :P

R: Lol. Just saying

K: K. Welp, thx 4 telling me

R: Anytime.

I set down my phone and get out of my bed. I walked out of my room ad went downstairs.

"Oh, speak of the devil. There's Kelli," Mom said as my five year old brother, Timmy, ran to me and hugged me.

"Did we get any letters from dad?" I asked, sitting down at the table.

"No. Not today. I'm sorry, Kelli," Mom said, leaning against the counter.

"No, don't be sorry. It's understandable. He's stationed and Iraq and God knows how much spare time he has. I understand that he doesn't have too much time to write a letter. It's just nice to get a letter from him, knowing he's okay. You know?" I said. Mom nodded and hugged me.

We all sat down together and ate our dinner. Just me, Timmy and mom. I have an older brother, but he goes to college in New York and my dad is in the military, so it's just me, Timmy and mom, right now.

After dinner, I went back up to my room. I sat on my bed and checked my phone. Three missed calls. I call back to the unknown number.

"Hello?" I asked. "I got three missed calls from this number."

"Oh, now you call," The voice said. It sounded familiar but I couldn't make out who it was.

"Um, who is this?" I asked.
