Monday morning. I turned to my right and felt around my bedside table for my phone. I found it and looked it.

5:04 AM.

I had 2 and a half hours before school. I let out a breath and ran my fingers through my hair. The dream I had that night was odd. It was just a man. He was staring at me as the background moved quickly behind him. He had shoulder length hair that was a deep black. His eyes seemed to match the darkness of his hair. He had a pale completion and a hooked nose.

I often had dreams that hinted towards my future. Sometimes it's people, other times it's a place.

I sat up in my bed, turning on the lamp on my side table. I stretched myself out, my elbows and back crack. I give a small groan and sigh, slumping over again. I looked to my left and saw all of my oddities. They made me smile, knowing that there were people and things out there that were freakier that me. I tossed my blankets to the side and slipped out of bed. I walked over to my cubed shelves that sat upon a long dresser. I went through my shirts, finding a plain black short sleeved shirt. I only wore shirts under my sweaters just in case it got really warm or I have a hot flash. Now going through my sweaters, I picked a grey pull over hoodie with a small alien face on the chest and to the left. I stripped myself of the long fleece shirt I wore to bed and changed my underwear. I looked at the outside of my right ankle and smirked at the new ink. I pulled myself to the task at hand; pulling my shirt and sweater over my head one at a time. I grabbed a pair of red leggings and threw them on. The sweater was long enough to cover my rear, so I didn't see a problem with it. I walked over to my mirror and grabbed my brush, running it through my curly-ish wavy hair. I bit my lip and inspected my hair. The blue had grown darker since last week. My lips thinned as I wondered about what happened to me and if I actually came from this family. I turned away from the mirror and grabbed my school bag. It's black and feathures an owl in gold on the front. I grabbed my books and papers, putting them neatly into my bag. I put some socks on and went up stairs. I was feeling a little hungry this morning, so I grabbed a handful of pumpkin seeds. I sat on the couch and quietly ate my seeds. I watched the clock that sat on the wall across from me.

5:38 AM.

One of the joys of being me. Waking up early enough to get ready and have plenty of time to do nothing. I watched the clock as the second hand ticked its way around the clock. Every 10 seconds I would take another seed in my mouth and chew it.

Tick... tock...tick... tock... tick...

It felt like time was moving slower and slower with every second that passed. I closed my eyes and ate the last seed. I listened to the nothingness, to my breathing, to the clock. I took a deep breath and opened my eyes.

5:40 AM.

I rubbed my eyes and sighed, standing and marched my way back downstairs. I grabbed my red cat eye framed glasses and put them on. I had just gotten glasses. I was still learning to make it routine that I wake up and put my glasses on as the very first thing I do. So far, it wasn't going very well. I looked around, feeling like I was forgetting something. I shrugged it off and grabbed my bag, threw my phone inside and zipped it up. I walked back upstairs and set my things on the couch. I made my way to the bathroom and brushed my teeth, cleaned my ink and put some ointment on it. I smiled at it. The first of many. I then hid it again, covering it with my leggings.

I walked out of the bathroom and turn off the light. I looked at the time once again.

6:01 AM.

I let out a heavy breath and grabbed my bag, throwing it onto my shoulder.I put my boots on, zipped them up and grabbed my keys. I opened the door and walked out.
