"You have many qualities of a Ravenclaw, but the Slytherin qualities are stronger, sharper," The sorting hat said as it was placed on my head. I had my eyes closed, holding my mind still so it could get a proper reading. It conversed with itself a little more before concluding.
"SLYTHERIN!" It yelled. I opened my eyes and looked at my surroundings, the Slytherin table cheered. The hat left my head, I got up and held my skirt tightly down as I walked over to the table. Many people were staring at me as I passed. I avoided eye contact with every one and sat where there were less people. I saw the teachers at the head table. Snape didn't look very happy. As far as I knew, it would be rare to see him happy.
The feast began and ended. I picked at a bit of turkey and mashed potatoes. I wasn't very hungry apparently.
I was shown around by the prefect along with the other first years. I never felt more out of place in my life. I as just under 5"3', while the other kids came up to just under my chest. The second we got to go to our dorms, I found that I would be sharing a room with 4 other girls. I was the first in the room. I guess the others were admiring the common room. I would take the time to admire it later when there were less people. I grabbed my bag and began unpacking. I put my books on the bedside table and my electronics in the drawer. Underneath were 2 small shelves. I put my bag of toiletries on the top one and my locked tattoo case on the bottom. There was no way I was going to leave it all at home. It was bad enough I had to leave my oddities. I heard more people coming to their rooms. the four girls I assumed would be my room mates walked in. 2 were blond, one had black hair and the last had brown.
They all laughed at whatever it was they were talking about in the hallway. They completely ignored me which was 100% fine with me. I made sure to take the farthest bed in the corner where I wouldn't be accidentally disturbed.
They turned to me after they chose their beds and gave me a look that could kill. I looked back.
"So. your parents are pussies, huh?" The blond across the room asked in a mocking manner.
"Remember when I asked your opinion?" They looked at each other. "Yeah. Me neither." I spoke calmly and grabbed my charms book. Maybe I'd find something in it to get people to shut up.
"Studying already? You must be a mudblood." I gave them a questioning look.
"And.... a mudblood is...?" They scoffed and laughed among each other.
"Some one who was bore to muggles you dolt!" one of them replied with a scoff. I looked through some of the defensive charms. I noted a jelly legs jinx, then a hex that turned a persons hair into antlers. I then grabbed my transfiguration book and went through the jinxes. The girls continued to talk dirt about me as I listed charms and hexes. I smirked and closed the book.I put the books back where it was and stood, then started to walk out of the room. I then turned and pulled out my wand quickly and turned the 4 of them into ducks. I was surprised it worked to be honest.
I then walked out of the room and headed to the washroom.
My plan was shot to the ground when I saw the girls back to normal and Professor Snape standing in the hallway with them. The girls had feathers in their hair which made me want to kind of laugh.
"You've been here a mere 4 hours and you already manage to torture your room mates." Snape stated with his arms crossed.
"I wouldn't call that torture," I replied. "And weren't you warned that I don't get along with others? Especially 11 year old brats," I added, looked at the girls then back at Snape.
"We were indeed warned, however we thought it would be in the first month. Not the first few hours." He replied coldly. I tilted my head and smiled.
An hour later, I found myself in my own room in the dungeons. The problem was that I got a months detention, a warning from the Head Mistress and sharing Snape's living space. He had an extra room that I was to stay in. It was rather large. It could have been in a broom closet for all I cared. When we walked into his chambers I noticed a small kitchen and living room.
"So, what are the rules?" I asked as we walked in. He looked back at me with an odd expression before composing himself.
"Clean up after yourself, shower daily, keep your room clean, food is to stay in the kitchen, curfew is now 7 o'clock for you, and do not bother me." He listed. I gave a nod.
"That's it?"
"You want me to set more rules for you?" He asked. I shrugged and shook my head.
"I think I'm good. Don't worry about me. You won't even know I'm here." I said and walked down the hall to my room.
And now here I am. Rooming with my teacher and head of house.
