- Snape's POV -
I sat alone in my compartment on the train. It would be a while before students would start appearing. I made note to take this time and enjoy the silence while it lasted. I closed my eyes for only a moment before I heard the door open. I took a deep breath.
"Mind if I sit in here with you?" The voice asked. It was a bored, feminine voice. I looked over to the girl that had approached me. She had blue hair, tied up into a bun and wearing dark colours. I eyed her for a moment.
"I'd rather you didn't but I suppose you could." I replied with little interest. She proceeded to stumble into the compartment and sat across from me. She had a bag with her and a caged raven. An odd choice.
"Dee!" The animal cried. She looked at it.
"Dee? Dee!" It said once more.
"Jack, shush." she said flatly.
"Hi! Hi!" it said, now looking at me. The girl reached into her pocket and brought out some sunflower seed. She fed the bird and that was the end of that. I glared at her and she avoided eye contact with me. I kept to myself and took a breath, looking out the window. The platform soon became quickly crowded with parents and students. I payed no mind to them and more to the girl across from me. I hadn't seen her before so she must have been one of the few that hid themselves, just coming out now. She was around 17 from what I could tell and she smelled of lavender. She was here before any of the other students so her parents must work early in the morning or she came alone.
Her choice in hair colour was a little odd as well. Why she chose an unnatural hair colour was beyond him. Muggles these day were becoming more and more weird as time passed.
They now had these devices that could play music, make phone calls and video chat with others. I often wonder what they are going to come up with next. Students began to board the train, seeing many pass us by. It was almost unheard of that someone would sit with me. I was glad no one liked me. I am no one's friend. I am a teacher or co-worker to them, nothing more and nothing less.
The girl across from me adjusted herself and grabbed her bag.
"This train ride is about 5 hours long, right?" She asked, rummaging through her belongings.
"That is correct." I replied. She gave a nod and pulled out her devide.
"Can I interest you in some music? I have anything from classical to screamo." She asked. I rose a brow.
"I am fine without it." I stated, pulling my book out of my robes. I heard a knock on the sliding door to the compartment. I ignored it. The girl tried to as well. They knocked again and opened the door.
"Hi Melody! May I sit in here with you? Hello Professor Snape! How are you this fine day?" A familiar voice said. I closed my eyes and tried to ignore her.
"Hey, Charlotte... It's Dee, first of all, and second, I'm not sure if--" she looked towards me. "Professor Snape would like anymore company." She said coldly. She sounded almost like me.
"Perhaps you're right. I'll come get you when it's time to change into our school uniforms! You know, you don't have to sit in here. You can come and sit with me!" She beemed. I couldn't take it anymore.
"Miss Wood please vacate this area before I give you a months detention. The school year hasn't even started yet." I turned to her with a glare that could kill. She only smiled.
"Okay Professor! See you later Melody!" Charlotte said and closed the door.
"It's Dee, for the love of all that is unholy!" She said quietly to herself, as if taking to the annoying and talkitive girl. I set my book down at took a deep breath.
