The next morning, I awoke early, as usual. Nora slept on the couch in the room so I tried not to bother her. I got myself dressed quickly and quietly and put on my glasses before going down to the near empty pub and sat at the bar.
"Some water, please." I said. The man behind the counter nodded and picked up a glass, filling it with water. He set it down in front of me.
"Back to Hogwarts?" He asked as he put some things away.
"No, I'm new," I replied, taking a sip. The water was extremely cold, having made me shiver as it ran down my throat. His eyebrow rose.
"One of the many that hid, hm?"
"I guess so," I replied with a shrug.
"You're not the only one, you know." He stated.
"So I've been told." I took another sip. He guetured to a girl sitting in the corner of the pub, reading a book. I saw her looking at me. She quickly hid behind her book when she was caught.
"Hm." I looked back at my glass.
"This will be her second year at Hogwarts. She's 15."
"Why are you telling me this?" I questioned. He shrugged and set the one glass down and picked another up.
"Just thought you'd like to know. Maybe you'd be in the same house as her."
"House...?"
"You haven't been told about the houses yet?" He looked astonished. I shook my head.
"There are 4 houses. Gryffindore, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin." He explained.
"You're house will be like you're Hogwarts family. Gryffindores are brave, couragous and determined. Ravenclaw are witty, love to learn and wise. Hufflepuffs are hard workers, patient, loyal and like to make sure things are fair--"
"That is definitly not me," I cut him off with a small laugh.
"And then there is Slytherin. Proud, cunning, and ambitious." He finished. I thought for a moment.
"I think I'd be either Ravenclaw or Gryffindore," I admitted, saying it more to myself than to anyone else.
"You may be right, and you may be wrong. You'll have to wait and see." He said, going back to his glasses. I saw someone in the corner of my eye sitting next to me. I turned my head slightly and saw it was the girl from the corner. She smiled at me and hugged her book. She had golden brown hair the she wore down with a headband and hazel eyes. She wore a pain white t-shirt and light jeans. Comparing the 2 of us together, we were complete opposites. I wore my blue hair up in a bun and had my black "My Chemical Romance" t-shirt on with dark jeans.
I fixed my glasses and gave her a nod in acknoledgement.
"I'm Charlotte," she began. "I'm a Hufflepuff and a second year, though I'm 15," she smiled. I looked at her and nodded.
"And, you are...?" She prodded. I gave a small, inaudible sigh.
"I'm Dee. First year, don't know my house yet, 16." I replied. Her hazel eyes stared into my grey-green eyes. I turned my head back to my glass, having ended the conversation. Though, apparently she wasn't finished with it.
"Nice to meet you, Dee. Is Dee short for something or is it just Dee?" I took a sip of water.
"Just Dee." I said.
"Cool! You can call me Charlie if you'd like. Would you like to sit on the train together?"
"Um, sure," I said, taking in more water. I avoided eye contact intensely.
