The first thing that hit us was the music. It blasted out of the stereos and the vibrations could be felt through our bodies as we walked in.

Anushka wanted us to spend some one-on-one time together that went beyond small talk and makeout sessions. Honestly, based off all the sweaty bodies, this didn't seem so one-on-one. On the bright side, Temptation was one of the best clubs in Shirley Heights.

Anushka grabbed my hand and led me forward with her back facing the front. "Come on, Gyan Gupta, dance with me."

She led us to the dance floor, and she moved her body to the beat. That was one thing that was a turn on about girls. The way they moved when they had rhythm.

In all honesty, men weren't all that great. They were the less attractive sex. They could be jerks and asses. They could also be very oblivious.

But I loved them anyway.

"What're you thinking about?" she whispered in my ear, and I grabbed her waist.

We pulled back to look at each other. "You don't wanna know," I said, and she smirked.

"Is it dirty?" she asked.

"You'll never know."

"Let's get drinks."

She grabbed my hand again and led us off the dance floor. Anushka and I both ordered four shots of vodka, and we downed them down rapidly. She chuckled as she slammed the last glass down, and I just hoped she wouldn't get drunk.

There was only one person I could deal with drunk.

I had to stop myself from thinking about him as soon as the thought crossed my mind. I was already giving in and spending too much time with him. I couldn't let him occupy my mind, too.

"You're spacing out a lot, aren't you?" Anushka asked while we sat at the bar, allowing the music and people to surround us.

"A lot has been on my mind lately," I said, and she nodded.

"Makes sense," she said. "We have our own lives, and we're also getting married in a couple months."

Then it struck me. I turned my focus on her. "Why are you doing this?"

I knew why I was, but she was young and beautiful. Anushka wouldn't have a hard time finding someone to marry. Her extroverted personality made the odds even greater in her favor.
