Maddie was fast sleep on the couch as you heard the door being open. You moved slowly, carefull not to wake the little girl and walked to him, helping Sebastian with his bag. He gave you a sad smile and you noticed his puffy eyes and tired features, you knew he was trying his best to stay strong after what happened.
"How's everything? I can't thank you enough for taking care of Maddie today, (Y/N)" he caressed your cheek.
"Everything is fine. You don't have to thank me. I'll put Maddie on her bed and run you a warm bath ok?" you helped him to take off his jacket as you spoke.
After he left the bathroom, you both lay down on the bed. Sebastian took a deep breath and you stayed quiet by his side, waiting for him to talk when he was ready. You ran your fingers through his hair and he closed his eyes, a peacefull look on his face.
"How am I going to tell Maddie what happened to her mother? I don't think I can do it, (Y/N)" he looked at you.
"I think she's still too young to understand but you should tell her the truth when you're ready"
"You're right. I have to think about her now. She'll stay with me here and there's so many things to do" he sighed.
"Let's do it tomorrow, you need to rest" you came closer to him, resting your head on his chest and he kissed your forehead.
You looked at each others as you heard a knock on the door.
"Daddy? Can I sleep here?" Maddie rubbed her eyes holding her blanket. Bobby right by her side.
"Of course, sweetheart. Come here" Sebastian said and the little girl climbed on the bed, laying between the two of you. Bobby curled up on your feet.
"I had a dream with mommy. She said she's a star in heaven now. She'll take care of us"
"Yes, she loves you very much. Don't you ever forget that" you said as Maddie slowly closed her eyes.
