It was Sunday morning so you decided to leave for a walk with Bobby before cleaning your apartment. You finally finished to put everything in the right places and the sun was calling you to go outside, besides the little puppy eyes at your feet made the decision very easy. You put on your leggings, sneakers and a tank top. Your hair was up on a messy bun and your grabbed Bobby's leash and a plastic bag, just in case he does his business on the street.
You left your apartment and Bobby started to barking as soon as he saw Maddie across the hall. And her father you may add. You let go of his leash and Bobby ran to her arms. You walked right behind him, smiling as your eyes met Sebastian's gaze.
"Hey! Good morning" you greeted them.
"Good morning, (Y/N). How you say, Maddie?" Sebastian caught her attention.
"Good morning, Miss (Y/N)" she said while hugging Bobby.
"Just (Y/N) for you, okay?"
"Okay" she smiled.
"So are you guys going for a walk too?"
"Yes, my daughter is a ice cream addicted. I was thinking about taking her to the park too."
"Miss (Y/N) and Bobby can go with us, right dad?" her eyes looking up at her father.
"Oh no, I don't want to intrude" you replied and Sebastian shook his head
"Of course! You're welcome to come with us, (Y/N). Do you like ice cream?"
As you expected, the weather was perfect for a walk and after stopping buy to get some ice cream, you walked to the Central Park. You and Sebastian were sitting in one of the benches as Maddie and Bobby were rolling on the grass, literally.
"I have no idea from where she gets so much energy" Sebastian chuckled and you nodded.
"She's a wonderful girl, you're doing a great job" you smiled.
"After Maddie was born, when I first held her in my arms... It changed everything. Things didn't work out between me and her mother but it doesn't mean I love her any less" he sighed.
"I’m sorry about your marriage. I think when you get married, you hope for it to last forever"
"It's okay, it was for the best. We just grew apart with time, our interests changed I guess." you nodded.
"I’m sorry to bother you with my boring life, (Y/N)" he blushed slightly.
"You don't bother me, if you need someone to talk, I'm right here" you turned to look at him.
"Thank you... Wait there's something in here" he brushed his thumb on your cheek "Ice cream" he smiled and you looked down feeling embaressed.
Meanwhile, Maddie and Bobby still didn't stop to run around the park, but you and Sebastian agreed it was time to go back home. He took her on his arms and you walked by his side with Bobby. Back to the building, you walked to your apartment and waved at them. "See you guys" Bobby barked, making you laugh. "Don't you want to join us for lunch? Right Maddie?" Sebastian suggested "Yes, stay with us (Y/N)" the little girl said with a smile. "If you don't have any other plans, of course" he added. "Sounds perfect, thank you. Let me just take a shower first" you said and opened the door. "We'll be waiting for you".
After the shower, you took more time than the usual to find an outfit. Bobby was lying in your bed, his eyes focused on your movements, as you were pacing back in forth. "What am I doing? It’s not like he asked me on a date right?" Bobby barked and shook his tail. "You aren't helping me, Bob" you caressed his head. You ended up putting on shorts, a white shirt and flats. You let your hair falling in waves all the way to your back. You found some chocolate cake on your fridge so you decided to take it with you. Making your way across the hall, you took a deep breath before knocking on the door.
"Come in, it's open"
The scene you saw made your heart melt. Maddie was up on a chair right beside her father, she was breaking the eggs on a bowl while Sebastian stood in front of the stove, finishing the first scrambled eggs.
"Hey (Y/N), hope you like our specialty, right sweetheart?"
"I must say the smell is really good... I see Maddie is doing all the hard work right there" you chuckled and she jumped on her feet.
"I love cooking, miss (Y/N)" she also claped her hands in excitment.
"And I brought dessert. Chocolate cake."
"Did you made it?" she asked you "No, unfortunately I don't have your talent" you frowned and she giggled.
"We're done. Thanks for your help, princess" Sebastian bowed and took off his apron. He placed her back on the ground and we put the plates on the table.
"Your mother is going to kill me. First ice cream and now cake" Maddie started laughing.
"Let me help with the dishes" you said taking the empty glasses to the sink.
"You don't have to, (Y/N). I can do it later" Sebastian said. "I insist" you smiled.
"Well, thank you for invinting me for lunch. It was delicious" you said and smiled.
"All the credits to the little chef right here" Sebastian said and you smiled tenderly.
"Thank you for the cake, miss (Y/N)" she said and you kissed her forehead.
"No problem, sweetie. See you guys" Sebastian ran in front of you to open the door.
"So... It was really fun (Y/N), thanks for coming. Maybe we... I mean if you want, we could... Just you and me actually, have dinner sometime? Only if you want to of course" he said nervously.
"Are you asking me out on a date?"
"I'm sorry... I'm a little rusty at this and it's been some time since... Actually, it's the first time after the divorce" Sebastian tried to explain himself and it was the cutest thing you ever seen.
"Yes, I would love to have dinner with you" you smiled and he sighed in relief.
"Okay, perfect. See you soon, (Y/N)." you kissed his cheek before walking back to your apartment.
