Before going to work, you decided to take Bobby for a walk. He was already following you everywhere, he knew what was about to happen. You put his leash on him and walked outside but you stopped on your track to grab the plastic bags in case Bobby uses the bathroom.
"Stay here, I'll be right back" you said and he barked.
When you went back outside and closed the door, Bobby was across the hall, barking and shaking his tail to the man in front of him, Sebastian.
"Hey buddy! I missed you too!" Bobby layd on the ground and Sebastian caressed his belly.
"Good morning, Sebastian" you greeted him. You haven't see each other in almost a week. You tried your best to not encounter him on the hall when leaving for work every morning, you were still hurt after all.
"Good morning, (Y/N). It's nice to see you" he looked up at you, still playing with Bobby.
"Yeah, you too... Where's Maddie?" you asked him.
"She doesn't want to go to school today. My mom is staying with her. I need to grab some of her stuff from her mother's. She still misses her... I don't know what to do" he stood up and Bobby stayed by his side.
"I'm sorry. Just give her time she's a strong girl. Could I stop by later? Maybe Bobby will cheer her up" you suggested.
"That would be great, thanks" he smiled.
As you promised, after work you stopped by Sebastian's apartment with Bobby. He wasn't back yet, only his mother and Maddie were home.
"Hey (Y/N), how are you sweetheart?" she hugged you.
"I'm fine Mrs. Stan, thank you." you smiled at her.
"I'm sorry about you and my son. Just give him some time, he loves you (Y/N). He's just confused right now"
"I just came to check on Maddie. How's she?" you asked, avoiding to talk about your break up with Sebastian.
"She's on her room. You can go there, I'll finish dinner. Would you stay with us?"
"Of course," you replied before walking to Maddie's room.
"Maddie?" you opened the door slightly and saw the little girl laying on bed, holding her teddy bear. She sat on bed and her blue eyes light up as soon as she saw you.
"Miss (Y/N)!" she smiled, running towards the door.
"Hey you!" you knelt and give her a hug.
"I miss you" she said and looked at you.
"I brought someone else to see you" you said as Bobby came running to her arms.
"Bobby!" she squeezed him as he barked and shook his tail.
"How are you? Your father said you didn't want to go to school today" you sat on her bed, she sat on the floor, Bobby licking her face.
"I was so sad. I miss mommy and you and Bobby"
"Come here, sweetheart" you said and sge climbed on the bed.
"What if me and Bobby take you to school tomorrow? Would you come with us?"
"Yes!" she smiled widely.
"I'll talk to your dad. We have a deal" you winked at her and Maddie giggled, hugging you tight.
"I thought you forgot about me. Don't you love me anymore?" she asked. You swallowed hard at her question.
"That's not true, Maddie. I love you so much! We're best friends, remember?" you caressed her cheek.
"But you don't love daddy anymore, right? He's sad too"
"Adults usually make everything complicated, Maddie. But I still love you so much." Bobby barked again "and Bobby loves you too"
"Dinner is ready" Mrs. Stan spoke from the kitchen.
"C'mon let's go! I'm starving" you said and Maddie laughed before holding your hand.
As you both walked to the dinner table, Sebastian arrived and for one moment your heart ached and you wished that you could be together again.
