"Take me home. Hold me close."

Being back home felt good. I was enjoying much needed time with my siblings and it felt like old times. I tried my best to not be tense at the dinner but it was a little distracting with Jason being there but he left me alone like i asked of him. A part of me expected that he would be here this weekend but why he thinks we can talk all of a sudden was beyond me. Our families have been so close over the years that it would almost be odd for them to not be here. So, my personal feelings were not important at the moment and i was fine with that. Seeing my baby sister graduating was worth it all. Right now, she was happy as ever with her bestie by her side. I admired Nala because she was everything i wanted to be in high school. Just to be so carefree was a quality i wish i had. I was always stressed, sometimes i still am. I tried my best not to worry about anything for the remainder of tonight.

After dinner my brother Iman told us that an old college friend of his was having this huge event at a club and he promised he would pop in. Nala and i had to beg him to let us go with him because i seriously needed to chill out. Amirah tagged along with Nala and i decided that I'll spend tonight with them. We made it a family affair and everyone went with the exception of our parents of course. L.A. nightlife wasn't really my thing but tonight i desperately needed to take my mind off everything that's been happening. I was still trying to get in touch with Erik and i hadn't heard from him since earlier on when he tried to call me.  Brushing it off, i quickly changed into a short black dress and let my curls free.

The club was like any other but we were lucky to get a spot in VIP because it was packed to capacity. There were mostly females out and tonight i looked like i was meant to be here. Somehow that didn't sit well with me. For some reason i was wondering if i was changing as a person. Normally reserved and kind of antisocial, i saw myself becoming more free but i wasn't sure if it was a natural progression or if it had something to do with the people i was surrounded by. I sat down letting my thoughts go. My brother offered me a drink and i gave him a look. They were always kind of strict but i guess my energy kind of gave away that i wasn't all too relaxed. Nala and Amirah were enjoying themselves on the dance floor and i sat with Hakeem and Mehcad having a drink. Iman was off catching up with his old friends.

After a few moments the crowd was getting a lil rowdy but it was mostly the ladies. I looked over and saw that there was about to be some performance and decided to stand by the railing and watch. The crowd seemed to be hyped about who ever was about to hit the stage. I saw Nala and Amirah walk up to where i was and we watched from there. They were so silly with each other, I couldn't help but admire them. My attention on them, I was a little shocked when I looked back down.

As soon as he walked on stage, i couldn't stop the smile on my face. Damien was dressed in all black and he was looking good. The ladies in the crowd was calling his name and i couldn't help but giggle. He must've been something over here. He started his performance off slow. His voice was amazing. Exactly like i remembered it. His stage presence was even better than before, i was even dancing along to his more upbeat songs.

Once he ended his set, he gave a nice smile and walked off stage. I was happy that i got to see him perform again. Soon there was slight commotion and i saw a few people coming into VIP. i was still standing by the railing when i saw it was him with an entourage. Not sure if i wanted to be seen, i turned my back towards them and looked out into the crowd again. Nala came running up to me and told me that she had to get a selfie with him. I lightly laughed because knowing my sister, she was going to get it no matter what. I was almost certain that they had passed but Nala's sudden excitement made me realize that Damien stopped right behind us.
