Nico
I woke up to my friend Dave poking my face. You're all probably wondering, who the fudge is Dave? Yeah... he's my friend who I'm currently staying with being as I'm not a legal adult and i don't have parents.
"Daaaave! go awayyyy!" I whined. I just wanted to sleep.
"Nico, its the first day of school!" He said. My heart sank, I've been dreading this day since summer started. I hate school. No, i hate the people in school.
"Ugh, fine. I'm up." I said irritably as i got up and walked to the bathroom. I glanced in the mirror but i immediately regretted it. My stringy black hair was falling into my face, casting shadows over my brown eyes, which had dark purple circles around them. I was pale and skinny, my bones sticking out in various places. I looked away and brushed my hair out of my face. Get a grip Nico. I quickly got a shower and got dressed, I was wearing dark skinny jeans and a grey tee shirt with a skull. Anyways, Dave and I trudged out to the bus stop and sat down in the back of the bus.
"So, how do you think this new school's gonna turn out?" Dave asked. I swallowed. Terrible.
"I guess it'll go okay..." I lied. Eventually the bus creaked to a stop in front of a faded brick building surrounded by swarms of children. I stepped off the bus and was immediately swept away by the crazy sea of kids. I had no idea where Dave went, but i was being shoved into the school building. First day and they're already attacking me, how nice. I tripped over someone's foot and was sent hurtling towards the dirty tile floor. I crashed into someone and ended up laying on top of him. I quickly got up and stared at the ground, feeling rather awkward.
"Uh...sorry.." I mumbled.
"Nico?" The boy asked. I know that voice... Percy Jackson. I looked up and stared at him.
"Uh...yeah. its me." I said.
"I can't believe we're at the same school! I hope we have some classes together, because i don't know anyone else here!" he announced.
"Yeah..."
"What's your first class?"
"Um, English i think."
"Hey me too! wanna walk with me?"
I felt my face heat up, he wants to walk with me? Shut up Nico, its not a big deal. I don't even like Percy that way! or do I... no I dont!
"Wow Nico, a simple no would have been fine, no need to raise your voice!" Percy held up his hands in defeat as he turned and walked away. Great. Just great.
