It is said that a human's brain is only functional to absorb all the knowledge and wisdom after ten o'clock in the morning. Saying something like this about humans as a whole puts the statement on a large scale. So putting it on a much more sensible and probably a much more understandable manner we can say a student's brain starts functioning after ten am. How much of that is true is a controversial topic. But right now Meha understood the aforementioned statement more and more.

Meha was barely keeping herself upright on her desk and trying very hard to focus on Mr. Matthews. Whatever he was saying was already flying past her ears and now with every passing moment she was losing her focus. She had barely made it through fifteen minutes of the lectures and she was close to passing out. The ten o'clock in the morning statement was proving to be true in her case. She was bracing her head on her hand and now the hard wooden desk was starting to hurt her elbow.

The past few days were hard on her. Her folks back home weren't making things easier for her. The stunt she had pulled by coming home at four in the morning, completely drunk and having no clue who she was with was turning out to be a nightmare for her. Her dad wasn't on talking terms with her and her mother was downright pissed. The only sensible person right now for her was Bianca. She for some odd reason could relate to Meha. Sister-sister bonding was a different matter but there was something that made Meha think that probably Bianca had been through this with her parents in the past. Of course Bianca wasn't giving out details and Meha was personally not that damn interested either. She had things on her mind, things that had rendered her sleepless for the past couple of days.

Those guys...

Meha had a mystery to solve. Her parents kept repeating about the good deed done by two boys. They were the ones who had safely returned her home and had not even bothered to give out details about themselves. Bianca said the guys looked her age and were pretty well dressed and seemed from a well settled family. Meha had had doubts about her dignity and had also done a quick test to check if her virginity was intact. Losing her virginity wasn't a big deal for Meha. She felt it was completely natural but at least if that is what was about to happen she wanted to be sober and with someone she actually loved.

Coming back to the guys, Meha had still the doubts about them. She did not for god's sake remember when she had even left the club. She remembered meeting Saee-actually she was reminded about their chance encounter by the numerous pictures they had clicked together in the club. Even in the pictures Meha and Saee looked piss drunk and were posing in silly poses with no regard for public discretion. Also the next day, Saee had texted her about having a great time at the club with Meha. To Meha's disappointment Saee didn't remember anything either. It felt like the stars were not aligned enough to grant her the permission to find out about the mystery guys who had turned out to be messiahs.

The sudden thud of a folder on her desk brought Meha out of her reverie in an instant. The impact was so sudden Meha shook from the shock and her elbow slipped from the desk and she had to take support so that she didn't topple over. That is what happened when an absent minded person was suddenly brought back to the world from their dreamland. The thick grey folder lay strewn on her desk with her name on the top. Mr. Matthews had a grim look on his face when Meha looked up at him. It was like he somehow knew that Meha was lost in her thoughts not long ago and he was very disappointed with that fact.

To be very frank, Meha had hardly ever seen Mr. Matthews satisfied with her work. It was like she was always lacking a bit behind from his expectations. It was not like Meha didn't try. She agreed that her efforts were not cent percent but she tried nonetheless. Mr. Matthews was a father figure for her from the very beginning. He had always been a family friend and a frequent guest at her house. It was not odd before but now Meha felt like he was there at her house to complain about her or give a report on her. Meha hated this feeling of being constantly under surveillance. She hated feeling trapped.
