"You're sending an android?! Why aren't you sending a real person?!" A woman cries out. I choose to not reply, purely because she is irrelevant to my mission at hand. The officer guides her out and I lift a stray fish back into its tank. It doesn't take long to locate Captain Allen and I approach him.
"Captain Allen! My name is Connor. I'm the Android sent by Cyberlife." I introduce myself hesitantly. This is my first assigned mission so I am still unsure how to interact with humans. He barely takes notice of me, continuing his previous conversation.
"If it falls, she falls." He warns me.
"What's it's name?" I ask.
"Does it matter?" He questions.
"I need as much information as I can get to determine the best approach." I state. "Had it shown any strange behavior before this?"
"Listen, all that matters is saving that little girl. Now do what you have to do or I will do it my way." He spits. I nod and turn away, noting the many officers and the destruction.
"An android? Really?" I hear a voice say behind me, a female. I just move forward and investigate what I can, sampling the thirium and constructing scenes. I quickly discover it's name is Daniel, and that the gun belonged to the now deceased father. I also learn that it was going to be replaced, the hostage was listening to music, and that it was almost time for dinner. An officer gets shot and I'm called to go out and talk to the deviant. I believe I have enough information, so I open the curtain and step out. A bullet goes through my shoulder, causing the wound to bleed, but I need to focus on what's important.
"Don't come any closer or I'll jump!" It threatens.
"No please! I'm begging you!" The girl cries out.
"Hi Daniel! My name is Connor! I'm here to get you out of this!" I call to it.
"How do you know my name?!" It questions.
"I know alot of things about you!" I state, creeping closer. A helicopter swoops by, causing furniture to fly around and making room for me to progress. I carefully continue forward. "They were going to replace you and you became upset! That's what happened, right?" I propose.
"I thought I was part of the family! I thought I mattered... but I was just their toy! Something to throw away when their done with it."
"I know you and Emma were very close! You think she betrayed you but she's done nothing wrong!"
"She lied to me! I thought she loved me... but I was wrong! She's just like all the other humans!" It spits.
"Daniel no!" The girl cries out again.
"Listen, I know it's not your fault! These emotions you're feeling are just errors in your software!" I try to reason.
"No, it's not my fault. I never wanted any of this. I loved them, you know? But I was nothing to them! Just a slave to be ordered around!" The helicopter seems to irritate it more. "Arrgh! I can't take that noise anymore! Tell that helicopter to get put of here!" It demands. I obey, waving it away.
"There! I did what you wanted!" It relaxes a bit, so I continue. "You have to trust me, Daniel! Let the hostage go and I promise you everything will be fine!" I bluff.
"I want everyone to leave! And... I want a car! Once I'm out of the city I'll let her go!"
"That's impossible Daniel! Let her go and I promise you won't be hurt!"
"I don't wanna die." It states.
"You're not going to die. We're just going to talk. Nothing will happen to you, you have my word!" I promise.
"Ok... I trust you." It sighs out. It lessens its grip on her, allowing her to get away. As soon as she's a safe distance, the snipers shoot multiple shots at the deviant.
Mission complete
Software instability^
I turn and walk away, making sure to bump into Captain Allen to add the finishing touch. A woman was next to him, but I don't pay mind to her. I've succeeded. Nothing else matters.
