"That man was proposing illegal gambling." Connor states as if it wasn't obvious.

"Yeah." Hank replies, biting into his burger.

"And you made a bet." It continues.

"Yeah." I look at the two with an eyebrow raised in curiosity and amusement. Connor looks confused as his LED blinks yellow for a bit. The air stays quiet for a while before it speaks again.

"So, is there anything you'd like to know about me?"

"Hell no! ... Well, yeah, why did they give that goofy face and make you sound like that?" Hank asks. I smirk and wait for its answer.

"Androids are designed to work harmoniously with humans. Both my appearance and my voice are specifically designed to facilitate my integration." Connor explains.

"Well, they fucked up." I snort and burst out laughing.

"Hank!"

"What?" He looks over at me.

"You're so rude." I laugh.

"Can I ask you a personal questuon, Lieutentant? Why do you hate androids so much?" The air tenses, but he keeps his cool.

"I have my reasons. You ever dealt with deviants before?" Connor hesitates, his LED returning to yellow.

"A couple months back. A deviant was threatening to jump off a roof with a little girl. I managed to save her."

"Wait, Em, didn't you work that case too?" Hank asks me.

"I guess, if you call, watching this asshole do everything, working then yeah I did." I answer, sticking my tongue out. He nods notingly

"So I guess you've done your homework, right? You know everything there is to know about me?" He asks Connor.

"I know you graduated top of your class. You made a name for yourself in several cases, and became the youngest lieutenant in Detroit. I also know you've received several disciplinary warnings in recent years and you spend a lot of time in bars." I couldn't help but to note how human Connor seemed at that moment. I know that's what cyberlife intended, but its just like that really adorablely awkward kid in highschool. They had managed to capture that personality and match it with a very kind, soft-featured puppy face.

"So what's your conclusion?" Hanks gravelly voice snaps me back to reality.

"I think working with an officer with personal issues is an added challenge, but adapting to human unpredictability is one of my features." It ends that sentence with a perfect wink. Suddenly his LED blinks rapidly for a moment before becoming blue again. "I just got a report of a suspected deviant. It's a few blocks away. We should go check it out." It tilts it's head back to nudge in the direction of the incident. "I'll let you finish your meal. I'll be in the car if you need me." And with that he walks away. Damn that was smooth. I'm not very fond of fake people, hence my tensions with androids, but something about Connor seems so... natural? His voice is so raspy and his eyes show life. He's unnaturally natural.

"Hello?? Earth to Em!" I snap out of my thoughts again and look at Hank. "Were you even listening?"

"Of course!... I wasn't." I admit, looking down.

"Something on your mind? You've been acting weird lately."

"Me? How?" I ask. I haven't noticed anything different about myself.

"You're so spaced out and quiet. I mean, you usually distance yourself from everyone, but you're just so... far away now. From what I've seen, it seems like the more we work with Connor, the more distant you become."
