The last one.
"I am so sorry randhir. You were always there for me and I said such pitiful things about you. Am so sorry." Sanyukta cried like a little child clutching onto him tightly.
"You don't need to be sorry. I know you said all that in anger and I completely understand it. I shouldn't have kept so many secrets from you." Randhir smiled mildly.
Sanyukta looked up from his chest and stared into his eyes while his hands quickly worked on drying her face.
"How can you be such a nice person?" She asked adoringly.
"I was born with it." He smirked. "Now no more crying, I don't want my child to be a crybaby like you." He pulled her nose.
Sanyukta pouted at his words and hugged him tightly one last time before turning back to her mother.
"I am really sorry maa, I said foul words to you too." She looked down.
"No need to apologize to me beta. You were not at fault." Her mother raised her head by her chin.
"I love you so much maa. I know you will be fine soon." Sanyukta again hugged her.
"I love you too beta. Just remember one thing, whether I am here or not, never leave Randhir's side. He is a rare gem. All these years never let me feel your void. He used to go to the child care center every month and secretly get me your photos and all the information about you. You know as soon as doctor said that I need to be shifted to the hospital, he turned this room itself into a ward, so that I don't have to go away." Her mother looked at him lovingly.
Sanyukta looked back him and thanked him silently for taking care of her mother all these years.
Randhir smiled widely and came to the other side, embracing both of them.
"Thank you so much both of you for giving me the chance of becoming a grandmother. I almost thought that I won't get that happiness in this life." Her mother chirped emotionally.
Both of them also got emotional and hugged her even tighter.
"Enough now, I don't know what melodrama have we started in the middle of night. Its very late and both of you should go back to your room. Don't keep my grandchild awake till so late." Her mother said pushing them lightly.
Sanyukta blushed lightly at her comment but protested her words.
"No maa, I want to stay here tonight." She said.
"No sanyu, there is no place for you to sleep here and you shouldn't be up till so late in this condition. Take care of yourself to the fullest baby, you already strained yourself enough for today." Her mother explained to her lovingly.
Sanyukta looked at randhir with a pouty face as if asking him to support her but he raised his hands in the air, giving up, making her glare at him.
After all the good nights and byes they headed started going out.
"But how are we gonna go? The door is locked." Sanyukta asked in confusion.
Randhir didn't hear her words as he was busy looking at his phone. Sanyukta noticed this and nudged him to answer her. Randhir smirked in reply and asked her to try opening the door.
Sanyukta made a face and pushed the handles of the door and magically it got opened.
"But it didn't open that time." She turned to randhir in surprise.
"I opened it." Came a voice from behind.
Sanyukta turned to find her mother in-law standing there with a huge smile.
"After randhir goes into the room, I lock it from outside and myself leave from the other exit. Then I come to open it and let him out." Her confession made sanyukta's mouth to open in a perfect 'o'.
"Gosh how was I even living in this house for one and a half month without noticing all this!!" Sanyukta exclaimed looking up.
All chuckled at her dramatic statement and went back to their rooms.
As soon as both of them entered their room, randhir pulled Sanyukta to the bed and sat down, facing her.
"I know you still have queries, so shoot." He said straight.
Sanyukta looked at him in shock as how he knew her so well.
"Why did you go to meet ma always at night only?" Was her first question.
"Because she is kept on high sedatives all day long to reduce the pain and is awake only at night and before you ask me, the doctor comes to see her every week through the other door of that room which opens in our backyard and in the daytime jenny takes care of her needs." He answered quickly.
"Oh yes I had seen her going that side. Next question is important, why did you always leave me alone all day long?" She looked so cute in that accusing look.
"Am so sorry for that, actually I used to feel really guilty to look into your eyes and hiding the truth so I avoided you but till night, when I wasn't able to control anymore, I used to rush back to you and take you in my arms." He said while hugging her tightly.
Sanyukta smiled at his cute answer and asked her next question.
"OK last one, when the hell do you sleep?" She widened her eyes.
He broke into fits of laughter listening to her innocent question.
It was a sight to watch!!
Sanyukta had never seen him laugh so carefree. It was a beautiful view. He looked so serene and absolutely child-like.
"I used to reach office, 4 hours before the normal timing, what do you think I will do this early?" He answered with a chuckle.
Sanyukta also laughed at this and then hugged him tightly.
"Now no need to do all that." She commanded and remained him arms for few minutes before speaking "I love you so much." She sighed.
"I love you too. A lot. You know when I used to come to your orphanage to get your pictures for maa, I don't know when your beautiful face, your carefree smile and your golden heart made their place in my heart but I was so scared thinking about our reality." He confessed for the first time.
Sanyukta gasped at his words, this was seriously not expected by her. But then what from today was expected!
Both of them stared in each other's eyes. Sanyukta smiled as the feeling of being loved by her love synced in. She leaned forward and took his lips in hers, nibbling on them tenderly. Randhir took only a second to respond to her. The kiss was extremely soft and sweet.
After having a good time they left each other and laid down on the bed inside the cozy duvet, molding in each other's arms perfectly.
Finally both of them could sleep peacefully afterall the mystery of the secret chamber was solved.
The End.
