Author's POV
Sanyukta woke up in the morning only to be welcomed by her naked self and empty side. She looked around for her husband he was nowhere to be seen. She was about to get up when the closet door unlocked and there he came, dressed in a grey and black business suit.
He looked totally eatable, she laid back down comfortably and admired her property. He was in front of the mirror, fixing his tie when his eyes fell on her, looking at him with a wide smile.
"Oh you are up. That's good. Now get ready fast and have your breakfast. I need to rush to office." He simply smiled at her and went away.
Sanyukta did feel bad somewhere that her husband was going to office on the very first day of their marriage itself plus he didn't even say a proper good morning.
She let the feeling go and decided to look around the house that day. After getting dressed in a turquoise and green color Saari she went downstairs and greeted her mother-in-law.
She had a hearty breakfast chatting with her MIL while renuka just sat there admiring the new ray of light in their dark lives. Sanyukta didn't have much to do the whole day as there were servants running around for everything.
She was looking around the house when she came across a room at the end of the corridor, who's door had a big lock, she asked about it to the servants but they remained quite. When she asked again a voice came from behind.
"That is my daughter's room."
Sanyukta turned back and found renuka standing there, smiling sadly.
Daughter!?
Sanyukta couldn't get herself to speak anything.
"I had a daughter, older to randhir by three years but she died 8 years back. Since then this room remains locked only." Renuka told with a hint of tears in her eyes.
"Am so sorry mom, I didn't mean to hurt you, I was just curious." Sanyukta apologized regretfully.
"No need to be sorry, my child. You are a part of this family and you have all the rights to know." Renuka assured her.
Both of them didn't know what to speak next so renuka simply announced that she was going to her room to take rest and left. Sanyukta stood there for a while feeling bad for their loss.
She then started feeling low, so she went to her room and called vidushi.
"Hey baby girl. Am missing you so much." She knew right now vidushi would be pouting like a kid.
"Shut up, am not talking to you." Sanyukta recalled her prank.
"What have I done now?" She asked as if the most innocent creature on mother earth.
"What have you done? Seriously vidushi? What have you not done? You stole all my nighywears so that am bound to wear that thing you got me." She accused.
"Oh that..!! Actually I knew how timid you are to wear that so I just pushed your limits." She said in carefree tone.
"By stealing my clothes?" Sanyukta asked exasperated.
"OK now leave this and tell did you wear that dress or not?" The mischievous glint in her voice could be heard.
"Yes." Sanyukta answered shortly but sternly.
"Thank God! Did he like it?" Vidushi teased her more.
"If we go by how sleepy I am right now, then yes." Sanyukta answered boldly.
Come on! We are all bold in front of our best friends. Our mind is like an open book to them, specially the dirty side.
"Oh my God! What has Randhir done to my shy baby." Vidushi teased. "By the way why are you busy with me, go to your husband girly." She added after a while of gossiping.
"He's not here himself, where should I go?" Sanyukta shrugged.
"Why? Where did he go?" Vidushi asked getting confused.
"Office. This morning when I woke up he was getting ready and then left." She tried to hide the disappointment in her tone.
"What? You can't be serious. He left you alone on the first day of your wedding." Vidushi shouted.
"Its not like that Vid. Maybe there was some important work. That is why he left." She convinced herself more than vidushi.
"If you say so. But just please keep a check on all this." Vidushi said concerned for her best friend.
"Yaa I will." They talked for some more time and then hanged up.
She waited for him whole day to come back but it happened only at night. When randhir came back, Sanyukta was watching TV but switched it off as soon as he came into her view. She expected to exchange some words after this long day.
He simply smiled at her and then headed to the closet to get changed. Sanyukta remained sitting there thinking maybe he was tired.
He came out and immediately plopped down on the couch with his laptop. Sanyukta stared at him for few moments but when she found no interaction from his side, she left the room to check the dinner preparations.
At bed time when she came back to the room, he was sitting on the bed, waiting for her.
"Am so sorry I was really busy today." He apologized.
That was when Sanyukta sighed a breath of relief. Her insecurities got washed away at the simple sentence. She forgave him instantly and sat down beside him.
They made passionate love again and again.
Sanyukta was half asleep when she felt randhir keeping her head on the pillow and getting out of bed. She was too sleepy to ponder over this.
Thus slept off thinking may be he went to drink water not knowing that water was kept just by their bedside and he didn't return the whole nightlong.
