About half an hour later Quinn was completely filled in on what happened after she was captured. And in return, she explained to us what it was like on the other side.
"It's not all that spacey, and the food isn't five star, but other than that we are being taken care of." She shrugs.
"So Kye has been treating you guys alright?" I confirm, "He hasn't hurt you or threatened you or anything like that?"
"Actually, he has been keeping us healthy and everything. One time Kevin was banging on the door so hard he almost broke his wrist. Kye showed up shortly after that. He didn't say anything, and for some reason none of us spoke. But he bandaged up his arm and dropped off a few trays of food and water." She says.
I sigh inwardly. He's taking care of them, and that is a huge weight lifted off my shoulders.
"Everyone is eating alright then?" I ask.
"Like I said, the food isn't the best in the world, but it's enough to keep us alive and well. And Kye hasn't been to hard on you guys?"
"It's been as good as it can get when you're being hunted by a vampire. But at least now we know that when we do get captured we are going to be taken care of." Sam Two says with a little laugh.
A thought hits me quickly and my stomach drops.
"Did you see Rebecca there?" I ask quietly.
"Yeah, she's there. But she doesn't say or do anything. At first I thought something was wrong, but no one really said anything. I think they were mostly just happy that she shut up for once." She giggles slightly.
I want to feel relieved at this, but all I can feel is guilt. It's my fault that she is in that room in the first place. Before, I couldn't help the others, but I was the one who let Kye take her.
"She's drugged, that's why she won't talk." I tell her.
"That would explain a lot." Quinn nods.
"What do you mean?" Sam Two asks.
"Well," She starts, "When she showed up no one could get anything out of her on what was happening on the outside. She just looked around like she had just woken up. And then Kye came in with our food. But he took the time to feed Rebecca on his own. I guess that was his way to keep her drugged."
"Seems like it to me." Sam Two shrugs.
"So Quinn, are you happy to be back in the game?" Nana speaks for the first time.
"I guess I should be happy to be out of that dark gloomy room and back with you guys, but after hearing what you guys said about Kye, I don't know if I am lucky or not. It sounds like it's pretty intense up here." She laughs nervously.
"Well that is for sure." Sam One laughs.
Suddenly, an idea hits me,
"Quinn," I ask jumping to my feet, "Can you describe to me, in as much detail as possible, what the room looked like that had the others in it? If you can describe it for me there might be something I can do."
"How could you help with that information?" She asks.
"Kat's weird, it's best not to ask." Sam Two says shaking her head.
"Please Quinn this is important. If you could draw me a picture, or just describe it even I might be able to find the door." I tell her as I rustle through the desk looking for some paper and a pen for her to use for the picture.
Unfortunately Kye was thinking the same way as me, and all I can find is an old comb and some make up. I curse myself for not thinking faster and looking right away. Now all I have to go on is Quinn's description, if she can even give me one...
