The Decision

~Brie's POV~

"Nicole?" Melody asks confused. She's only heard us call each other by nicknames a few times. But she always thought we had an imaginary friend called Nikki and Brie. And she says we're strange.

"Yeah" Trevor says.

"Well okay. Would you like to adopt Brie as well?" Melody asks looking towards me. I pretend not to notice as she turns her eyes to me.

"Oh well actually here's the thing." Jc hesitates. "We would only like to adopt Nicole."

My heart shattered in pieces instantly.

"Are you sure? I mean Nicole and Brianna are inseparable since they got here."

"Yeah. I know it may seem harsh to the girls, but right now we can only take one girl in with us. And we really liked those girls." JC explains. Melody looks confused.

"They seem like a good fit for us." Ricky says trying to clear things up. "They both honestly have a great personality and attitude."

"Are you guys positive?" Melody asks. I can tell how serious she is. She knows how much we love each other.

(A|N not like that ;)

"Yah" Sam responds looking down at the ground. I can tell he looks guilty about separating us. In fact, all of the guys do.

"Oh okay. Well you guys better go tell Nicole the news and then go with me to fill out papers while Nicole and Brianna say bye to each other. I know it will be difficult and they'll certainly need as much time together, since its possible its they're last time seeing each other." Melody tells them.

(A|N keep in mind that Nikki went to go get some snacks from the cafeteria. I know it's not mentioned in the story. Sorry. But just remember that.)

I immediately left the room. It's probably fastest I've ever ran. I eventually ran past Nikki. How do I know that? Well...

"BRIE WHERE ARE YOU GOING?"

~Nikki's POV~

I got some Reese's buttercups for me and some for Brie as well. That's our absolute favorite candy. I was walking back to the lobby and I didn't even get that far when Brie ran past. Wow, I've never seen her run that fast.

"BRIE WHERE ARE YOU GOING?" I yell.

I drop the snacks and run after her. By the time I got to the second floor I lost her. I went to our room in the far down end of the second floor and try to open the door. She locked it great. I left my key inside. I knew I should've put chain on the key to make it a necklace.

After about a minute or two, I finally thought of an idea. I took out a bobby pin from my hair and unfolded it so it was in a straight line with no bends. I pick the lock and after around 20-35 seconds I finally opened it. I look around the room to see Brie curled up in a ball on MY bed with a picture of ME and her.

"What's going on in here?" I ask.

I only hear sniffles.

"Brie what's the matter?" I go to my bed and lay down next to her hugging her.

"Brie can you tell me what happened that's making you cry?"

I stay in the bed with her for a few more minutes until she finally speaks.

"I'm...ready...to tell...you...wha-what...happened." She cracks her voice as she speaks.

I nod.

"You're getting adopted." By now she can actually speak normal-ish.

"Are you crying of happiness? It's great that we can be finally adopted together." I say with a big smile. We've always wanted to be adopted together and be part of a new family.

"No... I said YOU'RE getting adopted." Brie says cracking her voice again. I'm still confused. I lay there confused for another minute until I heard a knock on the door.

"Come in" I say. It's Melody.

"Great news Nicole, you're getting adopted." She says with a big smile on her face.

"And Brie too, right?" I say hopeful.

"I'm afraid not." Melody sadly says.

"So what you're saying is that I'm only going to be adopted?" I say. I hope she says no.

"Yes." She says quietly.
