So Who's Adopting Me?

~Nikki's POV~

"Are you positive they want to adopt me?" I ask nervously.

"Yes, Nicole."

"Are you really sure?"

"Nicole, this is the last time I'm telling you, yes they only want you."

Brie stares Melody in the eye.

"Not like they don't like Brie. Because you know Brie is awesome and fun and spontaneous. Who wouldn't want her?" Melody looks around the room nervously while tugging on the bottom of her shirt.

"Apparently nobody." Brie mumbles. It looks like she's about to cry. Way to go Melody. I sit next to her on the bed.

"But if I'm getting adopting Brie's coming with." I exclaim.

"Here's the thing Nicole, they have made a decision. And that's to only adopt one of you." Melody tries to explain.

"Well who's 'they' that's supposed to adopt me?" I ask curiously.

"Would you like to know the reason why they're only going to adopt one of you?" Melody asks with a small smile.

"Sure but who's 'they'?" I ask again.

"Well they can only take one of you guys in right now. They all love your guys' personality. And they would really like to adopt both of you but right now they can only afford to take in one of you." Melody looks at both of us while speaking.

"Okay, but who's adopting me?" I ask once again.

"What do you mean they can only afford to take one of us with them?" Brie asks. At least she stopped crying. Now as I think of it, I'm about to cry. I feel a lump in my throat and my eyes are starting to get watery. 

"I don't know sweetheart." Melody looks at Brie sympathetically.

"WHO IS 'THEY'? ALL I WANT TO KNOW IS WHO IS ADOPTING ME." By now I'm angry. But as you can tell I don't really show it.

"The 6 guys you two met." Melody finally tells me.

"I don't understand. If its 6 guys how can they not be able to take in 2 twin girls." I ask.

"I'm not sure, Nicole."

"So where are they now?" I ask.

"In my office filling out the papers." Melody tells me.

"Well can Brie and I have some alone time please?" I ask trying to be polite. She nods and leaves.

I turn to look at Brie and she looks right back at me. Her eyes are starting to get watery. I want to hug her. And I can tell through her eyes that she wants to hug me too. I lean in forward and so does she. We just stay there for about a minute just hugging each other, neither of us wanting to let go.

So that's it for this chapter. I know it's really short, and I'm going to start trying to make the chapters longer. I might update tomorrow but I'm not positive. I might not upload until next week. Anyway, comment what you thought of this chapter and please vote. But that's about it, loves.
