We arrived at the venue and as soon as I got out of the car, I was whisked away to prepare for the ceremony.

I stood behind large closed mahogany doors with the ring bearers, flower girl, bridesmaids and bestmen lined in front of me.

Slowly one by one everyone made their way done the aisle and soon it was my turn. I looked to my father, whom was standing besides me, hoping that I would find some sort of reassurance.

He looked at me with a sad smile before kissing the top of my head and facing forward.

I knew this is hurting him alot, although it was not a 'real' wedding, I am his only daughter and it was hard for him to see me get married even if it wasn't with the man I love.

I took in the deep breath as the doors opened and I walked down the aisle. All eyes were on me and it made me feel anxious. My father gave my arm a slight squeeze to comfort me and I smiled at him, which he returned with his own smile.

Once we reached the alter, my father kissed my forehead and gave me away to Alex and the ceremony began.

🖤🖤🖤🖤

I stood there looking at the priest. The man standing next to me was paying attention to the words the priest was saying while I just kept drifting.

I looked around the hall, to my brothers who were the best men. My father who sat in the first row, wearing dark shades. In fact every man in the hall were wearing dark sunglasses. Well this is a mafia wedding...more precisely a mafia daughter's wedding.

Guards stood at the entrance and at various spots on the perimeter of the hall. I looked at the sea of people, hoping to see him but he was not there, after a year of being together he couldn't even attend my wedding.

The words that I memorised was spoken, knowing that my line was next.

He said I do and the priest turned to me, I felt all eyes on me, making me slightly nervous.

"Do you? Adriana Regina De Leo, take Alexander Martino, to be your lawful wedded husband?"

"I do." I said and everyone cheered.

"Then I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride." We faced each other.

Alex sent my an apologetic smile as he leaned in and kissed the side of my mouth, to everyone it looked like he kissed me but we know that it is fake, we have practised this many times.

We turned to face the crowd and everyone cheered and shouted and we made our way down the aisle.

Once we were alone in the car, headed back home, Alexander spoke up.

"I am sorry again Adri." He said softly. Alexander, although he never showed it, was really hurting from his brother's betrayal.

I smiled reassuringly at him. "It is not your fault Alex. Xavier made his own decisions so why are you taking responsibility for them when he should be."

"Because I should have known what was going on. He is my brother for christ's sake." He said frustratedly, running his hands over his face.

"If anything Alex, I should have also known, I spent so much time with him that I should have known what was going on." I said and he shook his head.
