It has been a week since Finn and I decided to start this competition and I've been brainstorming all sorts of things I can do to try to figure out Finn's worst fear. After we agreed we both wrote our fear on a slip of paper and told my sister, Ava, to hold onto them until Halloween.
Finn and I are meeting up tonight and the Hawkin's pre-Halloween party. It's basically a gathering for residents of Hawkins to discuss different ideas about their haunted houses, decorations etc. Sadie's going as well as she's helping try to figure out Finn's fear.
As soon as I arrive at the pre-Halloween party all I see is food lined on every available table or surface. The food almost distracts me from what I came here to do. I then go straight to the closet at the end of the hall and tell Finn to meet me there. He comes 10 minutes later with a cupcake with a tiny pumpkin candy on top.
"I got you something." he says, handing me the cupcake.
"Thanks" I reply with a smile.
I try to make small talk while Sadie sneaks up behind him with giant spider in her hands. At that moment she jump-scares him, flinging the spider in front of him. The funny thing was, Finn didn't even flinch.
"I thought you were afraid of spiders!?" I exclaim, confused.
"What gave you that idea?" he asks
"That night in the haunted house, you screamed because a giant spider popped up."
"Oh that." he replies, smirking. "I only screamed because I knew you forgot your wallet and if I won you would say that we could meet up another time and you'd pay. You see, I wanted to hang out with you that night."
"Oh." is all I could say. I could feel myself slightly blushing.
"Nice try Brown." he says, smirking and walking back into the party
