Millie's P.O.V

>Gasp<<

I wake up in a hospital room, shivering and with a throbbing headache.

I look around the room. The ceiling has beautiful doves hanging from it, each one with a child's name on it.

I take in as much as I can, the colours, the sweet scent of Apple pie and the low hum of a t.v. next door. It was all so relaxing. I look up and see a boy with curly hair staring back at me, Finn.

"Millie." He exclaims, hugging me. Its obvious he has been crying.

" I'm so sorry." I say. " it wasn't just about the competition, I really like you Finn."

"Millie, it's okay." He says. " I was just overreacting. What exactly happened?"

"Well I was going to go get a Halloween costume with my mom but we got into a car crash."  I say.

"Im so sorry Millie. I thought this was just another one if your ways to find out my fear and I'm ashamed of myself." He says. I see a tear a fall down his cheek.

"Its okay Finn." I say pulling him into another hug. He sits down beside me on the hospital bed.

"But you did win the competition Millie." He says, pulling  out a box of Halloween candy. " You found out my biggest fear, losing you, and for a second there I thought I did"

I smile.

"But you barely knew me when we wrote down our fears on the papers." I say.

"Yes, but I persuaded the person with our fears to let me change mine. We had no rule against it." He says. "I didn't go trick or treating yet and I doubt you'll go given your condition so I brought you some candy as your prize from the bet."

"But now I feel bad because I didn't intentionally try to figure out your fear so I think I might have to take you up on that date." I say. He smiles.

Before I know it we are both leaning in and our lips touch. Butterflies in my stomach is just an understatement. We slowly part and he quietly says

"Will you be my girlfriend?"

"Yes." I reply before kissing him again.

Finally, he's mine.
