Millie's P.O.V

"Finn, please don't go." I exclaim. He leaves anyway.

I have ruined everything.

Flashback

"Hey Millie." Finn says as I answer the front door.

"Hey."

"So I was wondering maybe if you wanted to go see a movie with me tomorrow." He says nervously.

"Who's all going?" I ask

"Well I just thought it would be the two of us." He says

"Oh..." I hesitate. We've never really hung out together alone, except for that time when we had just met. But, that was when we were just friends.

" Its okay Millie, really, you don't have to." He says

"No, I want to its just..."

"Its just what?" He asks getting angry.

" we usually only hang out because of our competition." I lie. I didn't want to tell him the truth.

"So that's it!" He says. " you only hang out with me because of this stupid competition!"

" no Finn, that's not it."

"Save it Millie." He says. For a second I think I see a tear fall down his cheek.

"Finn, please don't go!" I exclaim. He leaves anyways.

Flashback over

I stare at my front door for a good 10 minutes until I realize that tears are falling down my cheeks. Good job Millie, I think, you scared away the only boy that's ever been interested in you. How could I be so stupid. I should have just told him how I felt instead of lying.

It's been a habit ever since I was young. I tend to bottle up my feelings and lie instead of telling the truth.

I run up to my room and lie on my bed, rethinking everything that just happened until I slowly drift off to sleep.

" Millie, Millie wake up!" My mom exclaims, slightly shaking me.

"Yes." I reply, rubbing my eyes.

" You still haven't gotten your Halloween costume!!" She says

"Oh Yeah!" I say jumping up. 

Don't get me wrong. I love getting Halloween costumes. But because of what happened with Finn and I, I'm not really in the mood. Although, maybe it will get my mind of things.

My mom and I are in the car driving to this new Halloween shop in town. Im looking out the window, trying my hardest not to think about Finn but he just keeps coming into my head.

"Are you okay honey?" My mom asks.
