Today was Alina's big day, but to her it was a dreadful day. She will lose everything today; her freedom, her life-long dream, and her happiness.
Alina was getting dressed in her wedding gown with some help with the village girls. They said how beautiful Alina looked in her wedding dress, or how lucky she is to marry a man like Gaston. Lucky? How could she be lucky to be suck with a selfish, greedy man like Gaston forever. She thought of running away after the wedding; run far away that Gaston wouldn't find her. Alina hated the idea of leaving her father, but it must be done if she truly wants to be happy.
After the girls were done getting Alina looked at herself in the mirror one last time. She did look pretty in the dress, but that doesn't change a bit. Alina looked over at the table where her beautiful rose was, her thoughts ran back to the kind man that saved her father. She tried to imagine the man handsome, gentle, and other things.
But then there was a knock at the door. One of the village girl peeked her head and said. "It's time, Alina." Alina put the rose in her hair, got inside a white carriage with 2 white horses, and headed for the church. Once she made it to the church she took a deep breathe and stepped out of the carriage, tried to walk slow to save time of her last bit of freedom. The sun was shining, not a single cloud in the sky.
Gaston was standing before the priest looking all cocky, and then Alina made her appearance in the church. Even though her face was veiled, Gaston had no trouble recognizing his beautiful bride. Alina and some other women had planted flowers in a circle, outlined the smoke-stained stones of the church.
The priest began talking about God's plan for man and woman. Alina turned her head to see her father sitting in front, he put on a smile so Alina smiled back. Then her attention went to William and his twin sons. William was doing the cold shoulder stare; she doesn't know why William was staring at her like that? Probably it's because she believes that humans and vampires should friends or is it because she slapped Gaston that night at the pub.
