"The stars are our witnesses, they won't judge us."

When frustration and dejection hits Mina hardest, she comes out to gaze at the stars. She hopes to find solace in the presence of moonlight and the glow of a thousand stars, instead, she finds solace in something else. Or rather, someone else.

It wasn't uncommon for Mina to come out to the rooftop of the dormitory when she was feeling blue, she'd always find comfort there after particularly frustrating days. She'd always find solace in the silence of the night as activities settled down and the air became clear of the stresses of life.

Tonight wasn't like any other, Mina was far too frustrated to be comforted by the late night sky this time around. You see, this day was one that she was sure she'd remember for the rest of her life. She'd finally told her mother how she felt about the boy she had set her up with, particularly the way she felt about boys in general.

Mina let out a sigh as she took a seat on the very edge of the building, the night air blowing against her face. She wasn't sure what she was feeling, was it anger? Disappointment? Well, whatever it was, it wasn't a good feeling and she no longer wanted to feel that way.

"Mina? You up here?" Mina doesn't lift her gaze from the view below her, not even flinching at the sudden voice. You walk over to her, seating yourself down cautiously. "How are you?" She shakes her head at your question, leaning back on her arms.

"I know you come up here when you're frustrated, Mina." This seems to surprise her as she finally lifts her gaze from the view below her, only to look up and shut her eyes tightly. Unbeknownst to her, tears start forming in her eyes and they begin to fall freely as she finally lets go.

"Yeah." She halfheartedly whispers, her eyes still tightly shut. "I, uh. Heard the phone call." She sighs at your words and finally opens her eyes, her cheeks glistening with her tears as she turns to face you. She takes a deep breath, before turning to look up at the sky once again.

"Do you ever wonder what's going on out there?" You turn to face the sky as well in the same position Mina was. You know not to answer Mina when she asks questions like these, this was her way of venting out her frustrations and you were willing to listen to her.

"Ever wonder how many people are celebrating large milestones in their lives today?" Her gaze drops from the sky to the ground as she lets the breeze cool her face. "How many people are celebrating things gone right?" You look to her at her words, only to be met with an eerily calm Mina.

She turns to you before continuing, her eyes softly gazing into yours. "I'm kind of glad it's over, you know?" You nod in understanding despite the fact that you yourself hadn't come out yet. "It was like the lie I'd been living with my entire life had been lifted."

"Though, there's one more thing I've yet to say. One more shot I need to take." You quirk your eyebrow up in curiosity as she smiles to herself, seemingly stress-free in that moment. "What is it?" Her smile grows wider, but the light in her eyes slowly dims once again as her smile becomes somber.

"I want-," She pauses and takes a deep breath, evidently examining your features. "Fuck it." She mumbles to herself, before moving towards you and connecting your lips with hers. She pulls away before anxiously gazing at you, most probably wondering how you felt about it.

You smile at her as her expression slowly mirrors yours, her fears slowly disappearing. "The stars are our witnesses, they won't judge us."
