CHAPTER 5 - WHAT IS YET TO COME

Kitara opened her eyes as soon as she heard the sound of a trumpet, signifying that all remaining warriors are back at the main grounds. But when she reached for her sword, it was not there. Confused, she looked around her to see other warriors just as baffled as her.

"So they took our weapons, huh", it wasn't a problem for Kitara. She doesn't show her powers much and this was the perfect opportunity to let it show. She would have preferred to be a highly skilled warrior with a low profile though.

She felt the ground beneath her start to crack and before it could swallow her, she summoned her flaming wings and flew up. She saw the startled faces of the people beneath her but she ignored it.

"Seriously, it's not like I'm the only one who can fly around here", she said to herself. High level Moons can levitate too.

Just like this one...

Kitara met the floating Moon's eyes with the same fury. Before her, thousands of summoned swords emerged behind the man. She grinned when she figured that this was no ordinary Lunar but a highly skilled one.

How many Lunars have I faced today? , she thought.

"So you finally showed how powerful you actually are", he spoke with a sarcastic grin plastered on his face.

Right! This guy, he was the top three last year.

She recognized the person infront of her as Damon Euclid, the best warrior among the Lunars after Galen Bane was sent on a mission. If she battled with Galen, then Damon must have fought with Nero, which he obviously lost to since Nero was second place.

"I like to keep a low profile"

"Is that so? Then we're gonna have to fix that", he said as the thousand blades came charging towards her.

Kitara raised both her hands and a giant wall of fire summoned, shielding her from the blades. It was enough to hold them back and when the flames died down, they were all gone

...or so she thought

Ten more blades came flying towards her. She was able to dodge some of them while her wings shielded her from the rest. What she didn't see was a dagger coming too fast and it pierced her right shoulder making her wince.

"Good job, you actually reached me", Kitara smirked.

"My rank is higher than yours, Fang", he said through gritted teeth. Lunars have humongous egos and Kitara thought she shit the bull's eye.

"The only reason why you're on the third spot is because I was the one who battled against Galen, and we both know that none of us is a match against him."

"You're just a weakling!", his words stung her ear and she clenched her fist.

I hate that word...

But she had no plans on wasting energy and mana right now, there's still the duel and the last five coming up. She'll need all the mana and energy she can reserve.

"Save that rage for the last five, Damon Euclid", and with that, she flew back to the ground.

Damon seemed to be in the same page when she saw him retreat as well.

Tsk! Lunars and their unbelievable ego...

As soon as her boots touched the ground, powers of different race came flying towards her.

A giant branch on the left, a huge wave on the right, hundreds of grass needles behind, nothing she can't handle. Kitara raised her right hand and with great force, she struck it to the ground and once again, ripples of flame burned through every nearby warrior.
