CHAPTER 13: Blood of my Blood
"Kitara, Nero, you're back?", he turned when he felt the presence of the two inside his office.
"Yes, we are", she spat.
"And? What happened?"
"Oh, a lot of things happened", Nero said as he walked around his office.
"We didn't find the Black Cloud. Instead, we were able to learn one thing", Kitara said as she stood opposite of Nero so they were standing on each of his side.
"And what was that?"
"We couldn't get rid of a pest who was never there in the first place", she said.
"What are you trying to say, Fang?", his voice became stern as he regained his authority.
"She meant, the pest wasn't there because he was here feeding in the hive", Nero said.
"Who are you, really?", the anger in her voice was obvious and she wanted to stab him right here and right now.
"I am Ethoran. What is-"
"Liar!", a voice echoed through the room as the long - haired Lunar entered.
Ethoran stared at him wide eyed before he let out a mischievous laugh, shattering his mask. When he sent Galen on that mission, he never thought he would find out. No wonder why he didn't come back on the day he was supposed to. Ethoran figured out that it was Galen who was responsible for that invasion a few days ago.
"I should've got rid of you when I had the chance", he spat.
"Die!", Kitara shouted as she slashed her sword towards him.
But she was stopped when Ethoran caught her sword on his bare hands with ease. Kitara struggled on his grip as Nero charged at the deity. But just like her, Nero's sword was caught by the man. The Lunar summoned blades and shot it at him but the blades stopped on its track before it could reach him.
Ethoran grinned as he released the legendary black flame from his body. The flame exploded, sending the three of them flying backwards as the building collapsed.
Ethoran zoomed to the sky and summoned black swirling clouds. The three warriors slowly rose up from the ground and rendezvoused below him.
"This is it", Galen said as he watched the scene before him.
Ethoran snapped his head towards them and raised his right hand. Thunder boomed and lightning formed at the top of his palm. He charged the bolt towards them but Nero was fast enough. He stepped forth and countered the attack as he summoned a protective shield of water above them. The water absorbed the lightning, making Ethoran even madder.
When the water disappeared, Ethoran had already escaped.
"I'll go after him. You two go and gather every nation towards the main battleground. I'll lure him there", Kitara said as she summoned her wings.
"Wait!", Nero grasped her arm before she could fly.
"Please be careful", he softly said as he planted a quick kiss on her lips. Kitara nodded and held his cheek before zooming up to the sky.
"I can actually fly too, if you want-", Galen said but Nero cut him off, knowing what he was about to suggest.
"No, thanks. I'm done with the flying.
"You're not going anywhere, Ethoran", Kitara said as she caught up to him.
"Oh I'm not", he said and stopped when they reached the battleground. "You're doing exactly what I want you to do, Kitara Fang."
