One should rather die than be betrayed. There is no deceit in death. It delivers precisely what it has promised. Betrayal, though ... betrayal is the willful slaughter of hope. -Steven Deitz

"She's gone." Uncle Giovanni said to my dad. We searched everywhere for her in this house, but to no surprise she isn't anywhere to be found. My father grunted in response before he turn and punched the wall behind him. My eyes grew at his sudden outburst. I knew he was irritated and beyond angry. He wanted blood, and there was nothing and no one that was going to stop him.

"She couldn't have gone far, she was here not only an hour ago. i want every person on this search, Bus and train stations should be searched first. I want guys to search the harbor and the airports. The first thing she does is run and hide and shes fucking good at it too. Keep your eyes open and look everyone in their face, I wouldn't pass it by her to change her outward appearance." Uncle Matteo instructed, he stepped in knowing his brother needed a moment to calm down.

"It's only been an hour, could she really change that much already." Raf asked from beside me. "She was the best tracker we ever had, she knows how to hide, where to hide and what to do to blend in. Which is why she is dangerous. Gio get men out their now, we can't waste any time." My dad said as he seemed to regain reality.

Uncle Gio nodded and left the office immediately. "We should be out there helping." Marcio said taking a step forward. His dads eyes snapped to him "No. No one leaves this house. There are too much risks and we can't afford to be worrying about you guys and focusing on finding Clara."

"Bu-" My dad cuts off Raf. "That was an order." Feeling confidence build inside of me I take a few steps forward and look straight into my fathers eyes, the same cold blue ones I have.

"No, we have been training for this since were toddlers. You have taught us everything you can. We are ready for this pops."

His jaw ticks as his eyes shove me 6 feet under. "Are you defying my order?" He barks out, his frame stoic and rigid. I swallow and nod once. Time seems to muddle together as we never break eye contact. Son challenging Father. Neither one of us backing down.

"Fine. Go. Take Marcio, Damien and Raf. If anything happens You. Call. Me. Immediately. "He bit out, his body the same as before. My heart did a little leap as I realized I just won this fight against my father. The Capo. I hide my incoming smirk and turn towards the guys.

"What about me?" Leo asks with his arms crossed over his chest. "You are going to stay here and be on guard. We can't have everyone out there and no one to protect the family." My dad says.

Leo huffs and nods in response.

Marcio looks at his father waiting for him to give him permission.

Uncle Matteo lets go a big breathe before nodding at his son grabbing his head and pulling it to his chest for a second. "Be safe." He says as he lets his son go. Marcio nods with a smile. We all turn to walk out the door, my dad nodding at all of us, reminding us to be alert.

We all travel to the weapons vault and stock up. Not too much for anyone to notice but enough to protect ourselves. We were going to find Clara, there was no doubt in my mind.

"Adriano what are you not telling me?" I asked my husband for the millionth time in the past 4 minutes. All he said was to take care of Mrs. Hart and to make sure all the kids are in the living room and don't leave the house.
