Eileen couldn't see the rain, but she knew it looked beautiful. She closed her eyes and tried to drift in her sleep, but Jungkook's driving wasn't making it any easier.
"Are you sure you want to do this?" Jungkook asked, with an unsure tone.
"We've been driving around all morning looking for somewhere affordable. This place is our last hope."
She responded, laying her head back onto the window.
"Let's go then." He sighed, twisting the keys.
They both threw their hoods on, before walking into the pouring rain. She looked up at the torn up building and gave Jungkook a disappointed look.
"He knows we're supposed to visit today, right?" Jungkook asked, ready to knock on the door.
"I hope so." She joked, making him chuckle. The two were startled as the door flung open, revealing a frowning man.
"Are you here for the landlord?" The man spoke in a low and unsettling voice.
"Y-Yeah." Jungkook smiled, but the man only turned away.
"Follow me." He ordered, shutting the door behind them.
"Uh, can you turn on the lights or something? I can barely see where I'm walking." Jungkook complained.
"Don't ruin it for us." She nudged him in his ribs.
They continued to follow the man until he suddenly came to a stop. He moved out our way to let us through.
"He's in here." The man pointed, while staring at the floor.
"Um, thanks- sorry I didn't catch your name?" Eileen looked at the man who never looked up.
"Y-
"Excuse him for bothering you, I'm Jin." The landlord quickly interrupted, shaking both their hands. The other one slowly trudged away, keeping his head low as he walked.
"Is he okay?" She asked, looking back at the gloomy boy.
"Oh, there's nothing to worry about." He shrugged it off, inviting them into his living room. The lights were still off, with an exception of a barely lit lamp light in the corner of the room.
"So, I hear you two would like to move in downstairs." He sat back, sipping on the red wine in his cup.
"Downstairs?" Jungkook interrupted.
"It's an old basement I used for storage a while back. I turned it into a minimal room for guests to stay in." Jin explained enthusiastically.
"Uhm, I don't know about that.." She shifted from Jungkook's gaze to the landlords, troubled on the decision she would have to make.
"How much were you willing to pay?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.
"We were thinking about 800 a month." Jungkook said.
"I'll only ask you for half of that!" He quickly offered.
They both gasped as they looked at each other with widened eyes.
"You're lying." She unbelievingly accused.
"I'm not lying." Jin said in a singing tone.
"Can we have a minute to talk?" Jungkook asked.
"Sure."
They turned to each other, huddling so that their backs faced the landlord. Jungkook nodded his head while Eileen was a bit hesitant.
"It's the best offer we've got so far." He encouraged her.
"Yeah, but this place is kind of sketchy." She whispered, making sure the landlord wouldn't hear her.
"Maybe it's just the guys' way of living. I say we should go for it."
"What do you say?" Jin asked once they both turned around.
