Jungkook wrapped his fingers around the metal bars, feeling the cold metal on his skin.
"When am I going to get out of here sir?" He asked officer Namjoon.
"Well, you haven't been causing us any trouble so far, but you're going to need someone to bail you out tonight." The officer replied, sipping from his coffee mug.
"No one's awake at this time, and my best friend and I don't have a phone in our house."
"Tough luck kid."
Jungkook tried to remember all the phone numbers he's gotten since he's arrived here. He was good at memorizing. He bit his lip, thinking of who he should try and call first.
"Sir, can I make a call?"
"Certainly." Namjoon mumbled, unlocking his cell.
Jungkook took a quarter from the officers hand, dropping it into the coin slot. He dialed the number and patiently pressed the phone to his ear, waiting.
"Please pick up, plea—
"Hello?" A sleepy voice spoke.
"Uh, hi. You're Hoseok right?" Jungkook mumbled into the phone.
"Yeah... who am I speaking to?" He yawned afterwards.
"This is Jungkook. I'm sorry for waking you from your sleep, but I got my self caught in a problem with cops, I'd appreciate it if you'd sort of bail me out."
"Uh, sure.." Hoseok scratched his head.
"Thanks." Jungkook mumbled before closing the phone.
"You got it all figure out?" Namjoon asked.
"Yes officer." Jungkook politely nodded.
Jungkook waited for what felt like hours, until he finally saw a car pull into the parking lot. He watched has Hoseok walked in, clearly looking as if he had just woken up.
"Thank you so much for coming." Jungkook stood up.
"No problem kid."
They walked out of the police station, walking over to Hoseok's car. It was a far walk from here to his landlord, so a car was necessary.
"How'd you like the block gathering?" Hoseok asked, putting his seatbelt on.
"Well, I missed half of it.." Jungkook shrugged his shoulders.
"Ah right." Hoseok remembered he's been at the police station.
"It wasn't that special." Hoseok said, making the younger one feel better.
"It's just that, I'm worried about my friend. I'm not sure where she is right now." Jungkook sighed.
"Don't stress yourself out." He smiled.
"Hey, can I ask you something?" Jungkook suddenly questioned.
"Sure." Hoseok shrugged his shoulders.
"Do you like living here?"
Hoseok pursed his lips together, trying to think of his answer.
"I've lived here for over 20 years. I couldn't say I hate this place, but there are a lot of bad childhood memories I have tied to this place."
"Wow, that's a long time. How old are you, if you don't mind me asking?"
"Just turned f— thirty five this year."
"Wow— I mean—
"I'm old, I know. Born in 83." Hoseok chuckled, making the younger one feel bad.
"You just look a lot younger." He tried to explain.
"Thanks I guess." Hoseok laughed.
"My girlfriend actually used to tell me I looked young for my age. She said it all the time. Since I was like fifteen."
"That's funny, how long have you two been together?" Jungkook asked.
"She past away." He tried to say with a smile, so Jungkook wouldn't feel bad for asking.
"I'm a mess today. I should just stop asking questions." He sighed, rubbing his neck.
"It's cool. You didn't know." Hoseok comforted him.
Before Jungkook knew it, they were pulling into his landlords drive way. The lights were all shut, as they usually were. I figured Eileen was asleep as well.
"Thanks for the ride." Jungkook waved before he shut the door.
The car was gone, and he was now walking up the steps. His hand was on the doorknob when he heard a belching scream from inside the landlords house.
