Zoe and I walked down the hall we had a free period so, we could have gone home, but we decided to stay.  “I can’t believe you, and Jason. Actually I can, I’m so happy for you guys!” Zoe said excitedly. I laughed, “You say that like we’re a couple.”  “If we played our cards right you two would be a couple.” Zoe said. “Yeah, and what about Claire? She already hates me.”

Just as we turned the corner Claire, Auden, and her flunkies were standing there. “Speak of the devil, and she shall appear.”  Zoe muttered under her breath to me, I giggled at that. “What was that Chloe?” Claire asked in a snobbish voice.  Zoe just looked down, “It’s Zoe not Chloe.” I corrected her. “But I bet you’re too stupid to remember.” I muttered under my breath to Zoe, now it was her turn to giggle.

“May I talk to you in private Arin.” It was more of a demand than a question. “anything you have to say to me you can say in front of Zoe.” I put an emphasis on Zoe. “Whatever.” She said with the roll of her eyes. “Look I came to warn you, first you turn down my offer, then you embarrass me, then after that you try and steal my boyfriend.” Claire ticked them off on her finger. “And your point?” I said uninterested.

Claire groaned in annoyance, “God you’re annoying!” She shouted. “So is this little confrontation over, because I can honestly say I have better things to do.” I threw back at her. “Look the point is to back off, or else.” She said getting in my face. “Is that a threat?” I asked stepping in her face. “No it’s a promise.” You could basically cut the tension with a knife. It was deadly silent, you could hear a pen drop. “Like anything you say, or do can actually hurt me.” I scoffed. “Oh then I’ll just take it out on Chloe.” She looked over my shoulder at Zoe.

My protective side took over, “You won’t touch her because if you do I will make it my goal to break you into bits.” She opened her mouth to retort, but I cut her off. “Running this school thinking you’re Queen Bee and everything when in truth you’re not. In fact you’re just Auden’s groupie. You’re too stupid to think for yourself. Tell me Claire, have you ever made a decision on your own? Now get out of my sight you wannabe.” I threw my hand in her face.

I watched as she walked away tears in her eyes her groupies following her. “You’re right.” I looked over, and saw it was Auden. “About me being an alpha, and all, I do have it in my blood.”  She said matter-of-factly. I rolled my eyes, as if I care.

“I don’t like you either.” She scoffed.  “But just to let you know I don’t appreciate you talking to Claire that way.” She shoved a finger in my chest I slapped it away. I began clapping my hands. “Oh it seems the wicked witch of the west actually has a heart. Bravo!”  I said mockingly. “Look, you better watch your back. Claire may be too stupid to come up with a really brilliant revenge plan, but I can. I mean you, and Jason just became friends again, I doubt you’d want something to happen to your friendship.” She threatened.

“You wouldn’t” I said through my teeth. “I’ve done it once, and I’ll do it again.” She whispered in my ear. “You’re pure evil.” I said through clenched teeth. “Oh, so are you doll, I mean you were my creation.”  She smirked. “I’m nothing like you, I’ve changed.” I said angrily. “Oh really? I think Jason would beg to differ.” She laughed evilly, and looked over my shoulder. “Why would you say such a thing Arin?” Auden said in a fake sad upset voice. She pretended to cry giving me one last evil look, and running away.

I looked behind my shoulder to see Jason, and Michael. Michael looked horrified, and disappointed.  Jason just looked at me, not with the same expression as Michael, but more as if he expected it, and that hurt the most. “No.” I reached out a hand to him. Jason shook his head, and walked away. “No wait!” I called out as I ran after him. Auden may have just ruined my second chance.
