Chapter Five - Wagging?

Grass tickled my hands as the wind blew it. The heat burned my scalp as I picked out shards of grass and twisted them around my finger, ultimately snapping them. It was Wednesday and I had a double period of Agriculture. However we did not actually do anything in this class unless you were walking the cows or collecting chicken eggs, or driving the tractor. But when you weren't it was the most boring thing in the world.

I heard the faint sound of buzzing and felt a small vibration on my foot. I looked down and my phone's screen lit up.

There was a message from Blake.
"Hey Katie. It's Alec."
"KATIE! IT'S ALEC!!"

I smiled contently and went to pick up my phone. It started ringing. I answered it happily.
"Heeello." I smiled.
"Hey Katie," the voice said, "it's Alec."
"Hey. What's up?"
"Do you wanna go for a walk?"
"What where?" I replied shocked.
"Outside of school," he replied, "I wanna show you something."
"Oh okay." I replied happily.
"Meet me outside the farm."
"Alrighty," I grinned, "see you."

I made my way up to the gate and happily waved when I saw Alec. He flashed a smile at me and then grabbed my wrist dragging me away. "Where are you going?" I asked in a panic.
"To my special place." He smiled.

I felt a little anxious not knowing where I was going but decided not to let that ruin my day.

He dragged me towards the front gate of the school. I abruptly stopped, and he tugged on my wrist to encourage me to walk with him. As he looked back at me his eyes glistened and his smile shone and I knew that he wasn't going to try anything sketchy.

Cautiously I continued to follow him but when we got to the mouth of the bush I stopped again and peered inside. He senses my fear and said, "I didn't bring you out here to hurt you Katie. I wanted to show you something that I find very very special to me. I want to show you my vulnerable side." He said this with so much sincerity in his voice that I felt bad for ever doubting that he was going to bring me out here to hurt me in any way. 

I stepped forwards letting him know that I was ready to keep moving and he smiled continuing to lead me through the bush. The sunlight shone through the trees illuminating various patches of grass and dirt. From inside it looked like a beautiful place that I had never seen before. It wasn't like I lived far from here either, I just hadn't ever been down here before. He smiled as the look continued on my face.

Soon enough we stopped in front of a log cabin buried in the middle of the bush forgotten and ragged.

"Where are we?" I asked in awe as I started at the beautiful cabin.
"We are at our special place. And it's okay. I own this land. It's not like we are trespassing or anything." He smiled, such a sweet smile that sent wonderful shivers down my spine. I had never felt like this before in my life.

Alec's eyes had not left my sight for a very long time and although I liked it I felt entitled to ask him what he was looking at, although right now I don't want to. I still broke the silence by blurting out, "What?"
"You look so beautiful." He said, reaching out and stroking back my hair. I jumped back frightened almost worried that he was just bringing me out here to have sex with me.
"Don't touch my hair." I snapped, wrapping my arms around my chest and looking straight down at the ground not daring to once again create that wonderful moment from before.
"I'm sorry." Alec apologised, taking a step towards me but not daring to touch me. I seen him hesitate to put his arm on me, but instead he just retreated it back to his side.
"It's okay," I replied rubbing my arm ruffly, "I just- it's just- the only people that touch my hair are the people I'm having sex with."
"Oh.." Alec said his voice dropping decimals
Significantly, "I'm so sorry Katie. I didn't know that."
"It's alright Alec. I didn't expect you to..."
"How about we go inside and I'll make you some tea?" He asked shyly.
"Yeah that'd be great." I chuckled as I stepped up the stairs and inside.
