I starred up at my roof just watching as the time snuck past me. I had no motivation and I did not need it. I just wanted to lay here all day just watching the time tick away on my bedside clock. I turned my head to look at it. It was 4:03. So close to them getting here.
For some reason they had wanted to meet me at 4:05. Whatever the reason, I knew I couldn't skip out on it. They hadn't threatened anything yet, but they would if I didn't show up. They would even if I did show up. But if I didn't the consequences would be worse. They would kill someone I cared about. It did not have to be a person. Last time when I did not talk to anyone where I had moved too, they killed my cat. They skinned it and left it hanging from its neck on my tree outside. It was still bleeding, blood dripping from its body as they had butchered the skinning.
One day they had threatened to kill my younger sister Nessie. Which caused me to become extremely paranoid and anxious. I still was but that was a few years ago, and they had terrible memories.
It was hard, trying to look after your little sister and go through HighSchool with these freaks coming after you.
I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket. I took it out, the text was an unknown number. Typical. They always did this. I just put my phone back in my pocket without replying knowing that I was going to get there on time.
They had said they wanted to meet at the Cemetery. Which was strange but I did not question it and I walked down towards it. It wasn't that far from home, which was good because that's why mum and dad had been buried. In fact that's where all my family members got buried and where I was going to get buried eventually.
I was not in any sort of rush but, i probably should have been. I really did not want to see them. I had never done anything wrong.
I noticed the makeup on my arms had washed off. I sighed, stupid rain. I'm so lucky Katie hadn't noticed. She would have seen all my tattoos. Well they weren't really tattoos. They were warrior marks from my families tribe. It was something that just kinda happened, but you could encourage them to come up by burning your skin. I was suppose to be a normal teenage boy. Yeah right.
There were puddles lining the pathway, but it didn't matter to me, I just kept walking paying not attention to any of the puddles that surrounded me.
My converses were all muddy, but I didn't care. They used to be my fathers when he was younger. Expect he had never worn them anywhere because he saved them for when he went out. And like me, he hardly went out. They were still in perfect condition when I had gotten them. Shows how social he was as a child.
My black jeans looked darker where the water had hit it, but my shirt was surprising clean.
Once I arrived at the cemetery I was greeted by three boys. All of which had strange tattoos up their arms showing their tribe's symbols. These boys were trying to scare me, standing like they wanted to kill me. It didn't bother me at all. They couldn't take anything from me. Nessie was old enough to harness her own power, and at this point in time they did not know where she went to school.
There was one really lean boy who was extremely lanky, like he had been taking drugs for his entire live. He had unnatural blonde hair that shimmered in the sun.
Another boy was bigger and looked like he was the most well fed in their tribe. However, because of this he gave off a stocky vine instead of coming off as just chubby. He had darker hair that was black.
The last boy was very small compared to the other. His hair was brown, and he was quite skinny was well.
All boys had black coats on that covered their faces significantly.
"So do you guys want, aye?" I asked trying to sound tough, as I walked down towards on the small slope of the ground.
"We want you to give us what you took." The big fat one demanded.
"We've been through this," I said with a sight, "I took nothing."
"Mmhmm," the smaller one said, "that's what you keep telling us. We've been watching you lately."
"Stalkers much." I mumbled lowering my head.
"Shut up!" He roared startling me a little bit, "and we noticed this girl. Her name is Katie?"
My head shot up, and my eyes widened, "Katie?"
"Now we have your attention." The fat one said. They all grinned."Don't touch Katie." I said sternly.
"We aren't going to." The small one replied.
"Good."
"Give us what you have."
"It doesn't belong to you," I replied, "and besides, I didn't take it."
"Who took it then?"
"My father did."
"Your father had no right."
"He had every right." I replied.
"No actually he didn't."
"You guys stole it from his father," I replied, "so yes he did."
"You don't know what happened."
"Neither do you."The big guy tried to grab me, but I dodged him. "Don't touch me," I warned, "it could get messy."
"Ha," he faked laughed, "yeah right."
"Don't tempt me," I replied, "I'll go wolf."
"Don't you dare!" The little one roared.
"Hope your bark is bigger then your bite." I replied snarlingly. The talk skinny guy who hadn't spoken a word whispered something in the smaller guy's ear, and the smaller guy continued that to the fat guy.
The fat guy walked over to a gravestone. I recognized it. It was mums gravestone. I felt my mouth drop, and eyes widen. "Don't.. Don't touch that." My voice was shaking.
"Why not?" He asked.
"Because, it's not yours." I didn't want them to know that it was my mum's but I'm pretty sure they already knew.
"It's not yours either." He replied, then smashed his fist against it. He hit it multiple times, and I stood there unable to do anything. "Nooooo!" I yelled. I collapsed onto the ground.I just watched as he continued to smash the grave into pieces. My eyes started to water and I tried to hike back the tears that threatened to stream down from my eyes.
"Why would you do that?" I asked looking down at the ground. I had already began to shake and I knew that I wouldn't be able to control myself any longer. I knew that I would go wolf without meaning to.
"Because," he replied, "I knew it would hurt you."
I got up, but even looking at them. I felt my body starting to shake even more than what I wanted it too. It was starting to get unbearable my body straining against itself, trying desperately to realise from the metal shackles I had created.
I jumped up towards them, and I felt myself change. My hands became paws, and my head transformed into a wolves. My tail grew next sprouting out of my tail bone.
I leaped onto him and pinned him down. I was frothing at the mouth. Some of it landed on his face and he screamed like a little girl. I snarled at him and tried to bite his face off, but was stopped by chains wrapping around my chest pulling me backwards.
I jumped towards them trying to bite into the chains that had captured me. Jumping away from them and grabbing onto them as hard as I possible could. They rubbed on my teeth and stung my gums as I tried to rip them apart. I could taste a faint iron taste in my mouth and I realised that it was my blood I could taste.
I could not ouch past their force and eventually gave up trying to bite any of them through their forcefield chains. I growled at them before turning around suddenly and running off into the forest to go home the back why where they could not follow me.
My body pressed itself to push forwards through the trees, weaving myself in and out of them. My paws pressing into the soft, undisturbed soil of the forest. Leaves crinkled under my large paws and flicked up the broken pieces up after me. A few trees had fallen down and I had to jump them, and a few I had to crawl under getting dirt all over my belly.
I was so close to home that I could see it and once I was in my front yard I collapsed into a heap on the ground. My eyes slowly starting to close from the sheer weakness of my body. I do not know what those chains were made out of but they sure as hell were not good for my body. I had never felt this exhausted in years. Not even after I had to fight three older wolves for my warrior title in our tribe.
"Alec!" I heard Nessie scream as my vision faded to black. I saw her running up to me. Her feet blurring as they got closer...
