Chapter Nine

Skyler's P.O.V.

        I woke up with a jolt. I had a nightmare, where I relived the whole incident, but the boys weren't there to save me. In the dream, I had been raped, and Alex and his friends left me lying on the cold ground. I looked over at the clock and saw that it was one in the morning. I was still tired, but I really need to talk to someone. Surely everyone is asleep by now. I don't want to really wake anyone up, but I'm just really frightened. I would go try to talk to Liam, but I feel like I've put him through enough today. Liam needs his rest too. I know the one person I want to talk to, but it seemed like when we got back he was trying to avoid me. I guess it's worth a shot.

        I padded out of my room and stopped in front of Niall's door. I hope he doesn't get too mad at me for waking him up. I knocked on the door and almost instantly he replied with a grouchy "what?". I guess he wasn't asleep after all. I slowly opened the door and went in.

        "Oh, it's you Skyler. I was expecting your brother or one of the other boys. They've been in here quite a bit." Niall looked over at me. His expression seemed so blank.

        "Oh, sorry. I just had a really bad dream, and I can go if I'm bothering you. I'm sorry." As I said this, his face filled with emotion. He looked incredibly sad.

        "No, no. It's fine. C'mere" He held his arms out to me and I gladly walked into them. He pulled me down onto his lap and I buried my face in the crook of his neck. "What was your dream about, love?"

        "I had a dream about what happened today, only you and the rest of the boys weren't there to save me, and they, they raped me, and I was so scared Niall. Not only scared from my dream, but when it actually happened today. I don't ever want to go through that again. And I didn't ever get the chance to thank you, and I'm so sorry, I'll never do that again. If it wasn't for you guys, I could've been-" Niall cut me off.

        "Shhhh. It's okay. It's okay. You're fine." Niall hugged me tighter. It was immensely comforting. "Do you maybe, uh, want to sleep in here with me for tonight? I mean if you don't think that's weird? I can sleep on the floor? Or something."

        "Uh, yeah. I'll sleep in here, but you don't have to sleep on the floor. I think I would feel better if you were in the bed with me."

        "Oh, um, okay." He shut off the light and pulled me back into his chest. I gladly nuzzled my face into his chest while he wrapped his arms around me. "Goodnight Sky."

        "Goodnight Ni. Thank you." He just hummed in response.

        When I was almost asleep, I heard him say "I'll always protect you, Sky. Always." and kiss the top of my head. With that I fell into a peaceful sleep.

Niall's P.O.V.

        I woke up around ten in the morning. I looked down and saw that Skyler was already out of bed. Maybe that's for the best, wouldn't want Liam to think I was being cheeky. Especially after everything that happened yesterday. Wow, I've only known Sky for a day, and I'm already willing to do anything for her. I feel bad for rushing off into my room when we got back home yesterday, but I think I made up for it when she came into my room last night. It just seemed so right, having her sleeping beside me, wrapped in my arms. I just wish she would've been here when I woke up. She's probably just downstairs getting breakfast or something.

        I got up and got dressed into some jeans and a t-shirt. I ran down the stairs and quickly grabbed a bowl of cereal. I looked around the kitchen and only saw Liam, Louis, and Zayn. Where was Harry? More importantly, where was Sky? I was gonna see if maybe she wanted to go to the movies with me or something.

        "Where's Skyler?" I asked to no one in particular.

        "Oh, Harry wanted to take her out for breakfast. They left like ten minutes ago." Louis answered me.

        Why would Harry take her out? Unless he's trying to get her to like him? Of course that's what he's doing. Typical. Typical freaking Harry. Always has to try and get the girl.

Louis' P.O.V.

        I watched as Niall's jaw and fists clenched. Someone wasn't happy about Harry taking Skyler out. I mean I guess I wouldn't be either if the girl I fancied and cuddled with in bed last night would've been out with Harry Styles. Yeah, I saw the two of them this morning in bed. I'm the one that woke her up. I didn't really think it would be appropriate for Liam to find the two like that.

        Last night, I had suggested to Harry for him to take Skyler out today. He seems to really like her. Like I've seen him be interested in a girl, but not like he is with Sky. He's totally smitten with her. What I didn't know though, was that, so was Niall. Liam and I had a chat after I had already suggested my idea to Harry, about Niall liking Sky too.

        I think it might actually be interesting to see the two battle it out for her attention. That sounds incredibly evil. I'm not evil I swear, I just like drama that's all. Why do you think I'm labeled the drama queen of the band?

        Honestly, I already know how this is all probably going to end. I think Niall will end up with the girl. The two deserve each other, and she's already showing signs of liking him too. I love Harry, he's my best friend, but I don't think he's going to get Skyler. But, I do think he deserves a chance. Hence why I set this little date up.

Well, honestly, not so great. She keeps asking questions about Niall. Does she like him or something? Maybe this was a bad idea. I think her and I are leaning more towards best friends, rather than boyfriend/girlfriend.

Aw. I'm sorry Hazza. I think Leeyum was talking about her maybe, possibly, liking Nialler. Maybe it's better for the two of you to be best friends. I mean what would happen if you guys broke up? No offense, mate, but you don't really keep relationships.

Yeah. I guess you're right BooBear. I think I can deal with being best friends with her. She's actually really sweet. You just have to get past her shyness. I'll text you when we're on our way back. :)

        I went into the living room where the rest of the boys were. Well, I guess that means there won't be any drama between Niall and Harry. Oh well, I can stir the pot in another way. I think a nice game of Truth or Dare can bring Niall and Skyler's feelings for each other out in the open. I should let them handle it on their own, but what's the fun in that?

I don't know how I feel about Louis' part of the chapter. I don't know if it really made sense. But I have decided, obviously, to not make a love triangle. I think Harry will serve Sky better as a best friend than a possible love interest. xx :)
