Chapter Fifteen

A/N: PHONE UPDATE. So I'm sorry if it sucks ass. You know what? Actually, I'm sorry if this just sucks in general. I have some big plans for it, so please don't give up on me yet! Thankful for whoever may be reading this story. Again, it's my first fanfic.

As we walked out the door, Niall intertwined our fingers. He looked over at me and gave me a grin. I gave him my best megawatt smile.

"It isn't that far and the weather isn't too bad, so I figured we could just walk?" He asked me.

"Yeah, of course. That's fine." I answered. He gave me a sweet, chaste kiss and we were on our way.

"So, do you miss your mom? I bet it's hard being away from her. I mean she's who you've lived with for your whole life."

"Yeah, I miss her a lot. I love her so much. I understand why she sent me here though. I mean it's already helping me to get better. I was hurting my mom with my constant trouble. Shoplifting, smoking weed, and constantly being drunk. I knew what it was doing to her and I felt so bad for making her endure that."

"So, if you felt bad about it, why'd you continue doing it?" He asked while turning his full attention to me.

"Well, I've always felt like the disappointment compared to Li, so I just decided I should act like it. And I mean, once you get into the routine and the lifestyle, it's so hard to just stop, no matter how much you want to. The incident that happened with Alex and his friends was such a wake up call." Niall stiffened as I let Alex's name slip from my mouth.

"Promise me you'll never do any of those things again. I was so scared."

"Niall, I have no reason to. I finally understand. I'm loved just as much as my brother. And I have you, Li, the girls, and the rest of the boys. I don't need it anymore. So, yes. I promise." I reassured him. He put a sweet, chaste kiss to my lips.

"I really like you, Sky." He said while putting his forehead against mine.

"I really, really like you." I replied causing him to pull back. He looked at me with a smirk plastered on his face.

"Oh, no, baby. You will never like me more than I like you." He said with a wink which awarded him with an eye roll from me. "You're sassy. I like it."

We came to an abrupt halt. I looked up to observe my surroundings. We were stopped in front of an aquarium. I used to love coming with my dad and Liam to these. It was my favorite thing to do. Well, until my dad left us. I haven't been back since. My dad and Liam still keep in contact. I refuse to speak to him. He left my brother, mom, and I all to fend for ourselves. He can go fuck himself.

"Your brother may or may not have told me how much you love aquariums. So. Here we are." Niall interrupted my thoughts. We began to walk in and got our tickets.

We were looking all around the place. I was quite fascinated with the clown fish, claiming to Niall that I had found Nemo, when all of a sudden, something caught my full attention.

"Ni! Turtles! C'mon, Niall let's go. I want to see the turtles!" I exclaimed while pulling impatiently on his hoodie sleeve.

"Turtles are my absolute favorite. They seem so chill." I said while putting my face against the glass.

"Hmm. I was thinking of a nickname for you, that only I could use, and I think I just figured it out." He grabbed me by the waist and pulled me into him.

"Oh yeah? And what would that be, Niall?"

I didn't know how close he was until I felt his mouth move against my earlobe when he spoke. It sent shivers down my spine, a good kind. "I was thinking Skurtle. Mixture of Skyler and turtle. I think it's cute, and cute fits you so well." I giggled while turning around in his arms. I put my hands behind his neck and pecked his lips.

"Oh yeah? So what am I supposed to call you?" I asked while looking up at him. "Wait. I got it. We were talking about Finding Nemo earlier, and there was a baby turtle. I'll call you Squirt!"

"Squirt?" He gave me an amused look.

"Yeah. Plus, if you think about it, remember the day I met you? You were having a wank? I think Squirt fits." I winked at him while his face got red.

"Shut up, Skurtle." He said while leaning in to kiss me. Then he pulled away and looked me in the eyes. His eyes were such a gorgeous blue. "Can I ask you something?"

"Anything, Squirt."

"Skyler, I really like you. An extreme amount actually. And I want to be able to call you mine. I want you to be mine and I can treat you like an absolute princess. Skurtle, will you be my girlfriend?" He asked me with a hopeful look in his eyes.

"Yes. Of course Niall." He let out a breath and pulled me into a tight embrace.

"This might quite literally be the best day of my life, thank you my princess."

He putted his lips into mine. We ended up kissing for five minutes in the middle of an aquarium filled with children. We pulled away and just smiled at each other. Best date I've ever been on. Hands down.

A/N. Okie dokie. So, some big things are gonna come up eventually. And I gotta give cred where it's due. One of my best friends, is kind of co writing this with me. I'm still mostly gonna be writing it, he's just going to be giving me ideas and such. We've already collaborated and have come up with an amazing story line. It may not necessarily happen for a while, it just depends on where this is headed. So like I said creds to my friend. He's like a brother to me and I couldn't be happier that he's helping me with this.
