Chapter Eighteen

Skyler's P.O.V.

I can't believe after years of not seeing my dad, he's just here, at my mum's house, on my birthday. Honestly, I don't know whether I'm happy or extremely pissed off. I'm just confused. I should be mad that he's here after the fact that he just got up and left us all those years ago. But on the other hand, I always had a great bond with my dad, and seeing him here kind of made me realize how much I actually missed him. I almost completely forgot about Niall being with me until he spoke up.

"Are you okay?" Niall asked as he sat down on my bed beside me. He wrapped his arms around me.

"I don't know, honestly. I mean, I'm so confused. I have this like, I don't know, excited feeling that he's here. I shouldn't. I really shouldn't because it was awful of him to just leave us like he did." I buried my face into the crook of his neck.

"Listen, Sky, it's up to you what you want to do about it. Liam and I have talked though, and I personally think you should try and give your dad a chance. I mean he is your dad after all. I'll support you with whatever you want to do."

"Thank you, Niall. I really appreciate you so much. I don't know how I, being the person I am with my troubled past and all, ever managed to get you. You're absolutely amazing. You mean so much to me." I gave him a quick peck on the lips.

"No, Skyler. I'm the one who doesn't know how they managed to get someone so amazing. God, you're just perfect. I'm a lucky guy." He leaned into me and gave me a sweet kiss.

Niall leaned me back against the bed while keeping the kiss going. He swiped his tongue across my bottom lip and I allowed him to deepen the kiss. We were now full on making out. Niall had me on my back and was situated between my legs and had his full body against me. I reached up and ran my fingers through his hair. He moaned as I tugged on it and he began to grind his hips into mine. Him and I have never gone farther than kissing, I gasped at the sudden shocking friction, but soon started to crave more of Niall.

Just as Niall had decided to make his way to my neck, we heard a knock on the door. We both groaned in response. Niall gave me a quick wink and mouthed at me that we would finish later. He made his way to the bathroom that was connected to my room. I don't even want to know what he's going to be doing in there.

"Skyler. Can we talk?" I heard Liam say through the door. He didn't even wait for my response before opening the door and sitting beside me on my bed.

"Listen, Skyler. I'm sorry if I've ruined your birthday. I just thought it would be good for you and dad to finally see each other and talk it out. He really loves and misses you so much, Sky. He has a reason for leaving and he really wants to talk to you. Please just give dad a chance." Liam said while fiddling with his fingers. He looked up to meet my gaze. I pulled him into a big hug.

"I'll try Liam. To be honest, I was kind of excited to see him here. I've missed him, not gonna lie. I just, I don't know, I'm scared I guess. He's already walked out on me once. What if he does it again?"

"I understand what you're saying, Sky. Just try. Hey, where's Niall?" I blushed when he asked.

"Oh, you know, he just went to the bathroom." I mumbled whilst looking at my lap.

"Aw, baby Payne, I was wondering why you looked so hot and bothered when I came in. I didn't really realize I was interrupting anything." He said with a cheeky smile and a wiggle of his eyebrows.

"Shut up, big boy Payne." I punched him in the arm.

"Okay, I'm gonna go. But come out when Niall gets back out here. You've got to celebrate. Plus, I don't want to be an uncle yet. Baby Payne can't have a baby Horan. I won't allow it... yet." He made his way to the door.

"LIAM!" I screamed as he left my room. I heard him loudly laugh as he made his way back to the rest of the group.

After a few minutes, Niall made his way out of the bathroom with a red face. He kind of looked relieved in a way.

"What were you doing in there, Ni?"

"Something you should've been doing, but Liam interrupted." He winked at me.

"C'mon. Let's go get back to the party, you pervert."

"Wait. Sky."

"What?" I asked and out of nowhere he pulled me into a tight hug. I wasted no time wrapping my arms around him.

"Happy birthday, beautiful."

"You're so cheesy, Squirt."

"Shut up, Skurtle."

We made our way back to the living room, where Louis and Zayn were arguing over who was going to give me my first present.

"Guys, guys, calm down. She's already gotten her first present from Niall." Liam claimed with a smirk.

"Shut up Li. Nothing happened." I said with a roll of the eyes.

I made my way over to where my dad sat. Without a second thought, I pulled him into a hug. He hesitantly wrapped his arms around me.

"I missed you, dad. I want to talk to you. See your side of it all. If you want, we can go do that now?"

"I've missed you, Sky. I love you so much. Yeah. That's fine. We'll just go out in the backyard."

"We're gonna go out to the back for a while." I said to everyone else as we went out the door. I was nervous to hear his reasoning for leaving. This had to be done though.

"So..." My dad started.

Niall's P.O.V.

I'm so glad Skyler is giving her dad a chance. From what Liam has told me, he's a really good man. Speaking of Liam, I really hate him at the moment. Of course he would interrupt us when we were getting pretty heated. I had to go take care of my "issue" myself. Not that I would've made Sky do it. Only if she wanted to. I would never make my princess so something she didn't want to.

"Please just promise me you'll use protection." Liam said to me.

"Liam, stop. We haven't even done anything."

"I'm just looking out for you, mate. Don't knock my sister up or I'll kill you."

"YOU GUYS HAVE HAD SEX?" Louis screamed. I mean, who else would've screamed that? Maybe Eleanor.

"No, Lou. Sky would've told me by now." Harry cut in before I couldn't even speak.

"First of all, I get that you think you and Sky are best friends, but she is our best friend." Eleanor started and pointed to herself and the two other girls.

"Second of all, she would've told us first." Sophia added.

"Third of all, find yourself a new best friend. You can have Lou when I'm not occupied with him." Eleanor added with a wink. "You can have some Larry time."

Harry groaned and mumbled a shut up to Eleanor.

"Guys, it hasn't even happened. So can we drop this discussion of Skyler and I's sex life?" I groaned.

"Ew. Niall. I think of her as a sister. Please keep your vulgar comments to yourself." Zayn said with a smirk.

These people drive me absolutely nuts.

"Okay, guys, let's stop. Niall's getting embarrassed by his lack of sex and we all just wanted to make it clear that we don't want a baby Horan around and eating all our food. Yet. We already have a big Horan doing just that." Louis spoke.

"You guys suck." I said while going to the kitchen to get some food. I was hungry, sue me. Plus, I don't know how long Sky was going to be out there with her dad. I need to preoccupy myself.

"GUYS. LET'S PLAY TWISTER!" Perrie squealed.

There were groans heard and everyone agreed. Playing Twister would waste some time. So why not?
