Alina Part II

Demi POV

"What happened to you" I say

"Can we go inside it been a long day" says Kehlani fighting back tears

"Yeah of course, Paulo can show you in" I say

Kehlani walks over to the back seat

"Wake up princess, you can go back to sleep but we have to go inside" says Kehlani

"Okay" says Paris as Kehlani picks her up

"I can take her inside" I say extending my hands out

She was half asleep still so I took her inside and layed her on my bed and shut the door. She looked like she'd been crying.

Kehlani didn't look any better it's been so long since I've seen her. She looked the same.

"I'll grab you some tea" says Paulo heading to the kitchen

"What's going on" I say sitting next to Kehlani

"I took Paris to the park like I usually do" says Kehlani"Alina met us there, we were heading over to push Paris on the swing and someone shot her"

"Alina" I say"Is she okay"

My heart started racing

"Yeah, she didn't make it" says Kehlani

Her head just hung down and she cried.

My heart broke into a million peices. I know all the shit that happened between me and Alina with Kehlani but we mended our friendship a long time ago. She did everything to make sure I was okay and never felt alone. Even before all of this. She was my support system.

"The last thing she said was to come and get you" says Kehlani

"Alina has been coming here to have coffee with me like every morning" I say as tears stream down my face"She used to bring Paris but as she got older she didn't think it was a good idea. Shes my friend and I can't stop thinking about how much this is my fault"

"We have to fix this" says Kehlani"I don't even know how to tell Paris...she was there when it happened but I don't think she understands that she not coming back"

"It's safe here, Alina made sure of that" says Demi"We can camp out here for a few days and figure out what to do next"

"Are you sure" says Kehlani

"I'm positive" I say hugging her"We're gonna figure this out...what happened to you?'

"The bullet went in my arm" says Kehlani patting the front pocket of her scrubs

"You can sleep in the room with Paris, give you guys some privacy" the say

"Is it cool if I sit outside for a bit" says Kehlani

"Yeah sure I'll join you" I say helping her get up

"I knew she was coming to see you" says Kehlani as she sits in the chair on the porch

"I was not to happy with her as you could imagine at first" I say"But I realized she wasn't doing her normal Alina thing. She loved you and Paris more then anything in this world. It was just crazy how everything happened"

"I didn't mean to hurt you that day" says Kehlani

"I know that's the past" I say

"But it happened" says Kehlani

"I just can't believe all this happened" I say

I was trying to keep it together for her but I couldn't anymore.

"It's okay to be sad, I'm fine" says Kehlani"I think we have to leave here"

"And go where"I say"I'm tired of hiding"

"We could go to Tokyo" says Kehlani"Me and...we have a home there"

"I don't know..." I say

"I don't want anything to happen to you..." Says Kehlani"Alina wanted me to protect you"

"What about Paulo, he's getting old and he can't handle the farm alone" I say"He's like a father to me, he's been here with me all these years"

"This is life or death" says Kehlani looking down"I'm leaving tomorrow..."

"Don't do this again" I say

"I didn't do anything" says Kehlani"I told you I was leaving for Tokyo and you didn't want to go..."

"I came...you and Alina were sitting next to each other" I say"You two looked happy together...so I left"

"We can't do this right now..." Says Kehlani"I just need you to be ready tomorrow"

"I'll let you know" I say getting up and going inside

"Where's mommy" says Paris"I need my hair put up"

"I can do it for you if you would like" I say sitting down on the sofa

"...okay" says Paris"Your mommies friend...I remembered you from the pictures she showed me"

"Yes,she's my best friend" I say grabbing a scrunchy"We went through very hard times together"

"Mommy was addicted to something...she says I'm too young to know about that"says Paris as I put her hair up

"So was I" I say"All done"

"Thank you" says Paris

"Hey princess, are you okay" says Kehlani coming in

"Yes, are you?" Says Paris"Your arm got broke mama"

"Something like that" says Kehlani

"Where's mommy" says Paris

"Paris, I need to tell you something about mommy" says Kehlani putting her hand out

"Okay Mama" says Paris taking her hand

"I'll walk with you guys it wolves out there sometimes" I say going in the closet to grab the rifle

"Okay"says Kehlani

We walked outside and went around the back of the house to walk across the land.

"When I was 17 me and your mom's friend Demi got caught in something that wasn't our fault. I know it might be hard to understand but there are people who wanna hurt us"says Kehlani"They found us at the park today and hurt mommy really bad"

"She's gonna be okay" says Paris stopping and looking up at Kehlani

"No princess" says Kehlani"Mommy is gone"

"No that's not fair...I want her now" says Paris pulling away crying

"Come back here" says Kehlani

"No, you hurt me" says Paris

"I don't know what to do" says Kehlani crying"I'm hurting so bad...it hurts to breathe or even look at her...she looks just like her"

"I'll go get her" says Demi running after her"Paris come back"

She stops and just sitting down in the middle of the field.

"You ever seen a butterfly" I say sitting next to her

"Yeah, mommy loves butterflies" says Paris wiping tears away

"She does, she's was just like a butterfly" I say"Free, loving and ever-changing...I know this is pain you don't understand but she's still with you. All the times you guys played together, everytime she made you feel better. It's still in your head and your heart. It's okay to cry but she wouldn't want you to be hurting...I know that for sure"

"I wanna go inside now" says Paris hugging Demi

"Go ahead sweetie" I say as Kehlani walks up to us

"I'm sorry princess" says Kehlani as Paris runs back inside"Look I understand you not wanting to go. I won't put pressure on you to go"

"No...I'll go" I say hugging Kehlani"I'll go"
