Summer Love Wasn't For Us

Chapter 6

It was few weeks before school was about to let out and her dad was still having trouble locking down a place in Bucky's school district. One morning her dad had already left for work and she was trying to get ready for school but she kept having to stop cause she felt like she was going to throw up. Then she checked the time on her phone to see how much time she had left and then she saw that her period app notification said "Ember you are now 10 days late." 

Then she puked she hadn't been paying attention to her period app to even notice that she was late. She called Bucky who was about to pull into his school parking lot "Hey gorgeous this is a surprise." 

"Bbbucky." she said as she started to stutter

"Baby what's wrong your stuttering." he said as he stopped his truck 

"I'm um I I I" she said 

"Emberlynn darlin what is it." he said 

He made sure no one was behind him and did a u turn and stayed on the phone with her and cause she couldn't speak. He pulled into her drive way and knocked on the door and he said into the phone "Baby let me in." 

She went downstairs and unlocked the door he lifted her chin and said "Baby what is wrong I know when you stutter like that something is wrong we have been together almost a year." 

She said "I um Buck please don't be mad or freak out." 

"Baby breathe" he said as he made them sit down on her stairs. 

He cupped her cheek and said "I love you baby what ever it is we can figure it out together." 

"I'm late." she looked at him 

He swallowed hard and said "baby I know you are late for school and now so am I." 

"No I'm late." she said as she handed him her phone with her period app open.

He looked down and said "Shit." 

He grabbed her hand and helped her up and said "Come on." 

They left her house and went to the pharmacy close to her house and they walked in and went to the pregnancy test aisle. She was so scared as she looked at them as tears fell down her cheeks. She got the clearblue one that was a double pack and also told her how far along she was. Bucky paid for it and they went back to her house and she peed on it and he came in and held her as she sat on her bathroom counter. 

"How in the world did this happen we haven't had a problem before now." he whispered 

"I don't know I got my shot in March on the same day I go every 3 months on the 10th." she said 

"My birthday ... oh shit Emberlynn I forgot about using condoms that week. We always used condoms when you got your shot. " he said 

The two minutes was up and she whispered as she counted to 3 as their foreheads were together and the test laid in her lap. She flipped it over and she looked up into his eyes and said "It's positive Bucky." He closed his eyes and said "Do you think that you could get into your doctor today." 

She got her phone and called her doctor and to see if they had anything opened that day. "We just had a cancellation for 1030 Ms Tatum do you think that you could come in then." the nurse said 

She looked at that time and saw that it was already 930 and she said "Yeah I can come in then." 

"Great we have you down to come in at 1030 and what will be the reason for this appointment cause you aren't due for another shot till next month." the nurse said
