" People are like stained glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there light from within. "

- Elisabeth Kübler-Ross

I stared at the piece of paper in my hand, the quote written on the crumpled piece of paper in messy handwriting. I kept reading it over and over until I came to a single conclusion.

This quote was stupid.

It was probably meant for people with fragile hearts whose emotions were easy to stir up. For the ones that could - for some godforsaken reason - understand how they were like glass.

But if they're glass, then I'm steel.

I promised myself that I would never be frail and fragile. I was now empty, my heart just cold steel. My heart was no longer a simple thing that people could take and run away with. It was simply just there to show I was human.

Looking down at the messy handwriting, I scoffed and threw it away onto the floor. What use did I have for a quote I didn't like? Someone else can just find it and maybe they can find some hippie-like reason to like it.

Simply put, I just didn't care.

"Hey, girl, quit littering!" An old man yelled at me. Looking back over my shoulder, I blinked before turning my head back and started walking away.

"Here, I'll trash it." I heard faintly. Closing my eyes, my hands balled into fists before I stuffed them in my pocket.

People like them, the do-gooders, the yes-man. How did they find solace in helping others? What's the point in them saying yes to every single task? I didn't understand, but I had come to another conclusion.

People are stupid too.

Yes, it's a short chapter. But this will hopefully show you a little bit of our protaganist's personality. She's a bit of a pessimist, but you never know.

Now, I'm giving credit where credit is due. Original idea came from Creasiel (Amazing writer. I remember reading HRS and crying), so go check her out~

That's really it, so have a wonderful day, lovelies. - Quill
